Company salary is well above what many companies are willing to pay for similar roles. They also offer unmatched benefits. 10% of your salary is contributed to a 401k without impacting your current pay, however there is a vesting schedule for the funds. Vanguard also offers extensive training. Another benefit is Vanguards willingness to let you follow your career goals. If you want to take the CFA, they will enable that for you. Lastly, they are one of the few companies that won’t post phony reviews on glassdor, so keep that in mind.

Stop hiring VADP managers.

Not much if you are a data scientist as you would be getting way higher salary and total comp in any other company

There is seriously no data available, nor different businesses want to give out data to data scientists. Different groups keep bragging about data analysis/science but on the ground there is really no data science going on across the business

Salary is not even tempted competitive with other firms and you’re lucky to get a 1% raise each year. Also, don’t expect any opportunities for growth.

Company really does a good job driving fees down for individual investors. No one works any later than 5:30 in most departments, so if you have kids or other hobbies there should be plenty of free time outside of work.

Unfortunately the constant focus on keeping costs down does not make it a great place to work. Salaries are low relative to other financial service firms despite management's constant comments to the contrary. Health plan has been totally gutted in recent years. Employees are now charged per dependent so if you have a large family health insurance costs really creep up. Every time Vanguard gets more assets under management it cuts fees. This is great for investors but makes it hard for employees to sustain decent pay raises every year. Corporate culture is still very conservative. My work there reminded me of attending Catholic school in the 80's.

Vanguard is a great place to learn and expand your knowledge of the financial industry.

Vanguard's salaries are lower than their competitors so it is hard for them to retain their associates.

Salaries are low compared to the competitors, even when considering total comp. Internal Salary raises in general are low (vs getting a competitive salary as a new employee)

Friendly Enviroment, great benefits, profit sharing plan, bonus and okay pay.

Once your in the company its hard to grow and salary increase is only 7%.
