I worked at Veeder-Root Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Unlimited number of sick leaves

    Cons

Although the company has a flat structure. There is no Transparency and no growth for employees. Manager does not know to appraise their direct reports. HR is not accessible easily. Most of The Top Management decides and does not care to listen to anyone at the ground level. There is no new investment in exploring or working on new ideas. If someone generates a new idea and implements the same, The Management only nods and does not take it forward in anyway. They only look to see how the Share holders benefit. Recommendation is to stay away from this place.

    Advice to Management

Cut down red tape bureaucracy and encourage honest and good talent do not create obstacles to favor your personal people.

    Pros

It's a pay check and they give small increase every year, do your job and you should get the 3%.

    Cons

Bad management and as other reviews mentioned they put no money into their software so employees are always doing runarounds to get things done. Co-worker's job consist 75% of finding ways to get what the customer needs by working around the system. They added Fuel Quest to the mix and now no one accepts any responsibility of who fixes what and I have had tickets out waiting to get fixed for over 6 months. Super simple items but everyone wants the other guy to do it.

    Advice to Management

Take some management classes or get out of the way.

    Pros

Not many...Executive Management keeps their head in the sand and has NO CLUE WHAT THEIR MANAGERS ARE REALLY DOING OUT IN THE FIELD...or how they are really treating their direct reports.

    Cons

Executive Management is run via the "Good Ole Boy"network. Human Resources are there to protect the company and those managers that are protected by their higher-ups no matter how badly they treat the employees, and finally, the Operations is a mess where customers and Distributors are treated like 2nd class citizens. Everyone knows this but stays there anyway.....unbelievable.

    Advice to Management

None. They don't care and it's not going to change.
