Lower Management is young and very unprofessional. (management plays favorites, very inconsistent). HR department is a joke.......because they are Non-union.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to be consistent so the lower management can follow.

I worked at Venetian Casino Resort Inc full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Tips daily. Paid lunches. Steady work.

    Cons

As a black female employee, I was harassed by security for simply "existing" while waiting in the back employee pick up area. Simply saying "I work here" is not enough. I had to show my employee ID despite no other employees (nonwhite) being questioned about their employee status. It's not even as if random people could get to that location as it's only accessible via the employee garage. I witnessed white coworkers steal customers out of my section and not even get disciplined or talked to. While I was lied on, and attacked because I did not gossip, focused on my great tips, and minded my own business.

Black people are hired for back of the house positions like dishwasher and cooks. While male guests solicit prostitutes (who are white, asian, all races), security only harasses and confronts Black female sex workers. Why not tell your male guests to stop soliciting as well?

The HR department (which is not diverse at all in sex or ethnicity) will not listen to your complaints and will believe anything your manager says. Many of the cocktail waitresses are jealous and nosy and like to make very vulgar jokes. They want to be all in your tips, and gossip. While the women who mind their own business, and focus on their work are accosted and lied on. No morals at Las Vegas Sands Corp. Most casinos here would rather not hire in black people. Honestly this city is stuck in the 50s. Surprisingly enough, with Trump in office I'm sure the majority Latina bullies, and immigrant food and beverage dept managers (the most evil woman I have ever worked for) would want empathy. Horrible department for women. Also, this company lets mostly male customers talk to you any disrespectful way. Black employees are tired of your treatment of us. Absolutely disgusted by my experience here.

    Advice to Management

Sheldon Adelson should fire the entire petty female HR staff. They make women look horrible and do nothing but gossip and attack those who make formal complaints of harassment. However if you claim to have a "drug problem" they will work with you. How ironic. Appalling people.

    Advice to Management

If you want employees to give respect to management then you need to give respect

I worked at Venetian Casino Resort Inc full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, free meal daily, education reimbursement, great wage, major focus on sustainability

    Cons

Management is reactive rather than proactive. It made work more stressful than it needed to be. Suggestions from lower level employees were not taken and the business and morale suffered for it.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people on the ground. They know how to improve the business. They are at the front line with guests every day. They know what guests want, need, and complain about. Trust your employees input.
