I worked at Venetian Casino Resort Inc full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, free meal daily, education reimbursement, great wage, major focus on sustainability

    Cons

Management is reactive rather than proactive. It made work more stressful than it needed to be. Suggestions from lower level employees were not taken and the business and morale suffered for it.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people on the ground. They know how to improve the business. They are at the front line with guests every day. They know what guests want, need, and complain about. Trust your employees input.

    Pros

Great pay, free food, clean environment

    Cons

Coworkers love gossip and the managers encourage it. A very surreal experience. Keep to yourself.

    Pros

Flexibility, great Co-Workers that give you lots of help and support.

    Cons

Micro managed by the Captains and catering director

    Advice to Management

If you trust people enough to hire them, after they have jumped through all the hoops, and background checks, trust your capable banquet staff to do their job, instead of policing every move they make. That actually causes people to stop performing at their best, because they are to worried, about what you are worrying and fretting about, to do their job correctly.

    Pros

Money. That's it. Fancy architecture to look at? Money nightly. A few discounts. Decent cafeteria food? Male management is ok.

    Cons

Open prostitution carried out at the various bars and lounges by male guests (security does not care) Disingenuous staff. Manipulative and self serving female Dept heads. The entire hr staff is full of over hyper plotting Latinas who make excuses for "their own" and expect all other workers to comply and put up with bullying and harassment within their departments. They do not take non mexican or non latino employee concerns seriously and female department managers tend to be very juvenile and unprofessional in their employee dealings. Horrible experience, especially f&b managers.

    Advice to Management

Hire a diverse staff within all departments including hr. Take your emotions out of your work and stop conducting business like high school girls. Respect and reward employees and do not rule with fear and threats and unfair treatment for certain groups of people. Stop allowing guests to solicit for prostitution.

    Pros

Made good commission in a short amount of time.

    Cons

Assistant manager was blatantly rude, discriminatory and biased. Due to her longevity she got away with a lot of unfairness, did little work as she couldn't be bothered for questions as she played on the Internet.

    Advice to Management

Monitor your managers to ensure all employees are treated the same and fair.

I have been working at Venetian Casino Resort Inc (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great health benefits(pay is lacking), overall pleasant employees, employee discounts through out the city, beautiful properties. Respect through affiliation. If all of these are better than pay, I recommend.

    Cons

Pay is definitely too condensed in my department. Have been promoted 3 times and it seems I just can't get out of the same pay range no matter how hard I work. Actually made much more as an entry level due to commissions. When broken down hourly I make less than I did in my previous position. Salaried workers are taken advantage of due to extended hours. When trying to negotiate new pay was told "you should be happy with the opportunity" as if my time was not valuable. Feel as if I should learn as much as I can then leave the company. Time on property must be more valuable than work/life balance if you want to succeed.

    Advice to Management

Be mindful to fairly compensate and value employees. You can easily crush someone's drive to grow with you by undercompensation and lowballing due to proven loyalty. With the new FLSA law maybe the company will review and make positive changes.
