Pros
I have worked for a few other companies within the industry, but I can genuinely say that I have never felt as home as I do with Venterra. Your thoughts, opinions, and ideas are all heard by upper management, and not only do they listen to you, they respect and value your opinion. As an on-site team member, that is one of the hardest things to find. If your values align with their core values and you embody that, you will be successful. Every person working within Venterra works with passion and joy in their work. They are selective in who they hire, and always stress to ensure it will be a good culture fit for their team, as Venterra is truly a collective innovative mind, pushing to achieve excellence. They continue to grow, so the growth opportunities are there and are encouraged as they tend to hire internally which is how it should be. I can’t wait to see where this company goes and so excited to be apart of it! I could go on and on.
Cons
The cons are usually the easiest part when writing a review for other companies. Venterra is just that great I have none.
Thanks for taking the time to share the feedback and thoughts! I’m thrilled to hear your time with us has been as positive as it has and that you’ve seen our Core Values alive and well in all your interactions. We’re excited to have you on the team as we grow, too! As you know, we’re always on the lookout for ways that we can do better, and we want to make sure that your positive experience continues in the years to come. With this in mind, please be sure to continue sharing your opinions and speak up if you do spot any opportunities for improvement. Thank you again for the review!

Caring Company, Great Pay, Amazing Benefits
May 17, 2023 - Certified Make ReadyRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Venterra knows how to take care of their employees. They give random bonuses, discretionary bonuses and raises based on performance. They notice when you're working hard which is rare in most companies. Venterra pays for classes up to 3% of yearly salary. Offer a variety of free books in personal development. PTO and vacation days. Help you work through life problems and accommodates based on severity.
Cons
Because Venterra cares about their employees, they have to go through hell and high water just to get rid of a detrimental employee. I've worked with a few employees who did more harm than good, it's taken months to recover from their unprofessionalism. Because of Venterra's policies, you may end up working with a bad team every now and again.

We appreciate you sharing your perspective and suggestions, and I’m happy to hear your time with us has been as positive as it has been overall! While we believe in creating an environment where team members have a real opportunity to turn poor performance around, we also know that an under-performing colleague can make a significant impact on team morale. While candid conversations and honest evaluations help our team leaders strike a balance between these two priorities, every situation is different, and decisions should be made on a case-by-case basis. Sharing your own observations and perspective with your Maintenance Manager can help all parties better understand the full set of circumstances, so please be sure to speak up if you do run into any similar issue in the future. On the topic of team events, we’re excited to have returned to in-person team meet-ups for events like our Venterra Experience Awards, Venterra Leadership Conference, and regional Family Fun Days, but, in line with our Leader Promise to have fun and celebrate success, we’ll continue exploring new opportunities for group get-togethers. If you have any specific suggestions, please be sure to submit them through the Innspire portal. Thanks again for the review and please keep the feedback coming!

Pros
Venterra has a vision to be inclusive of all voices within the company and to create an environment of idea sharing, excitement and fun! They also encourage giving back, recognition and appreciation to the on-site staff employees as well as the residents. Pay is competitive and benefits are above par. Lots of pros, but room for improvement.
Cons
Where they fall short is with on-site manager support. While creating an environment of fun, contests, gifts and incentives for the staff, they fail to emphasize the importance of accountability. Also, the software is inferior to any company's I've worked with prior. Standard industry reports are not available, and it is very time consuming to search for all the information one or two reports should be able to provide.

Thanks so much for the feedback and insights. We’re all about creating an environment where our team members are excited to come to work, so I’m glad you’re enjoying the Venterra culture overall! As you mention, there is always room to improve, and holding individuals accountable while providing the right tools are both critical parts of a great employee experience. As a people-first organization founded on technology, your specific recommendations are especially appreciated, so, as we grow and explore new ways to enhance the Venterra experience, we’ll absolutely take your suggestions into account. In the meantime, please keep the feedback coming, and be sure to submit any specific suggestions via the Innspire portal. Thank you again for taking the time to share!

Family-Oriented Culture with Room for Improvement
May 19, 2023 - AnonymousRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The company's commitment to treating employees like family is evident in every aspect of their operations. The supportive and nurturing environment fostered within the company is truly exceptional. From day one, I have felt welcomed and valued by both my colleagues and superiors. The emphasis on teamwork and collaboration has created a work culture where everyone is willing to lend a helping hand, share knowledge, and support one another to achieve our collective goals. This sense of unity and belonging makes coming to work each day an enjoyable experience.
Cons
Their commitment to certain policies deserves recognition, particularly in terms of their emphasis on customer feedback and opinion-based commission and bonus structures. This approach encourages employees to remain agile and attentive to prospects and residents, which ultimately contributes to a dynamic and customer-centric environment. However, I believe there are some policies that require attention and updating within Venterra. One area of concern is the company's pay scale, which I perceive as outdated. In order to retain and attract top talent, it is crucial to align compensation structures with industry standards and ensure that employees are fairly rewarded for their contributions. By revisiting and modernizing the pay scale, Venterra can create a more competitive and motivating environment that incentivizes exceptional performance. Furthermore, while Venterra's commitment to "Prudent Cost Management" is commendable, there are instances where this approach veers into being excessively frugal. It is important to strike a balance between cost management and providing the level of service that aligns with Venterra's own mission of "Unparalleled Service Excellence." By investing appropriately in resources and infrastructure, Venterra can ensure that the company's commitment to exceptional service is consistently upheld, fostering positive customer experiences and bolstering its reputation in the industry. Venterra is a good company with admirable intentions, and it is evident that efforts have been made to create a supportive and customer-focused work environment. However, I believe there is room for improvement, particularly regarding the pay scale and the need to strike a balance between cost management and service excellence.

Thank you for reflecting on your time with us and for sharing your thoughts here! It’s great knowing that you’ve felt supported and appreciated from day one and are continuing to enjoy the Venterra experience overall. Thanks also for the thoughtful and constructive feedback in terms of opportunities for improvement. We recognize the importance of compensation structures in attracting and retaining top talent. While regional benchmarking reports help inform our pay structure and we’ve made some changes to enhance our compensation offerings, there’s always room to improve. Your input will definitely be taken to heart as we make changes in this area in the future. Similarly, we understand that striking a balance between our Core Values of “Unparalleled Service Excellence” and “Prudent Cost Management” can sometimes present a challenge. It’s critical that we’re investing appropriately in resources to consistently deliver exceptional service, and we will continue working to maintain service excellence while effectively managing costs. Please be sure to speak up or submit an Innspire idea if you have any specific recommendations in this area (or any other!) Again, we appreciate the thoughtful feedback and are looking forward to using your suggestions to guide us in our efforts to improve and provide an even better work environment for our team members. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any other feedback to share!

Pros
I have little to no complaints about the on-site experience. Coworkers and peers are generally incredibly supportive of one another and thankfully, almost all issues I face on-site can be resolved with minimal corporate intervention.
Cons
Senior management unequivocally devalues the input and opinions of their lower level employees. Senior management will always defend senior management, and questioning leadership will lead to retaliation.

While we appreciate the review and I’m glad your on-site experience was a positive one, it’s disappointing to read your thoughts regarding our senior team. We’ve made a leader promise to ensure all our team members have a voice and are treated with respect and fairness. Although we have programs in place that are aimed at making good on these promises, and there’s always room to improve, the situation you’ve described seems likely to require immediate attention. As a reminder, EthicsPoint (https://bit.ly/3stiJsA) remains a go-to third-party resource for current and past team members needing to anonymously report a concern. I’d like to encourage you to provide more insights using the service, or, if preferred, by reaching out to me directly by phone (281-822-9125) or email (bgeorge@venterraliving.com) as soon as time allows. Thank you in advance for sharing a few more details however you’re most comfortable and again for providing the review.

Great culture and team dynamic at most properties Initiatives in place to provide opportunities for additional compensation. Programs that encourage personal and professional growth through Better living and lifelong learning. Decent Medical, Dental and Vision insurance PTO and sick time is above average. Commission for leasing consultants can be lucrative if you put in the work.
Cons
Consideration for senior management opportunities appears to be given to applicants outside the organization. Lower end of salary compensation compared to other companies for the same positions/job titles. The pay doesn't match the work load and level of responsibility Understaffing can be overwhelming at times

Thank you for your review! Competitive compensation and opportunities to advance are both important parts of a great employee experience, so we appreciate the feedback. While onboarding individuals with fresh perspectives and unique skill sets can help ensure that diverse viewpoints are represented and niche organization needs can be met, we remain dedicated to our Leader Promise to “strive to promote from within.” Personalized development plans in combination with our Educational Assistance Program help us make good on the promise, but we expect to continue increasing the ratio of internal promotions to external hires as we evolve in the years to come. As you mention, providing competitive pay and rewarding team members for strong performance is a must, as well. To that end, we’ve made a few recent changes to compensation structures and encourage candid conversations on this topic at any time, but we’ll absolutely take your feedback into account as we explore new ways to further enhance the experience of our team members. If you’d like to share any additional thoughts or suggestions, feel free to reach out to me directly by email (rroos@venterraliving.com) or by phone (905-717-8264). Great People, Great Leaders and Great Company
Mar 9, 2023 - Community Manager in Tampa, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Loves to promote from within - Very Work/Life balance focus - Great Leadership (will help educate you and teach you so you can grow) - Diverse - Team Orientated (From on-site to upper management, everyone is willing to help you with anything.) - Growth Focus (for you and your region) - And etc. I could go on, but Venterra is a industry leader that I wish other companies followed after in our line of work. If you work hard, and try your very best, you will get rewarded.
Cons
Nothing major. If you work in the multi-family industry before you will deal with the same usual stuff with other companies but you will be supported by your leadership if you are doing things the right way.

I’m happy to hear that your time at Venterra was so positive and appreciate you providing the review! While office hours can vary from location to location, it is typical for most of our communities to be open at least one weekend day per week. This helps ensure that we’re able to serve current and future residents who might not be able to make it in Monday through Friday. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and for your dedication during your time at Venterra. Be sure to stay in touch!

Thanks for taking a moment to share the review here! It’s great to hear that your time with us and your onsite team members was as positive as it was, but, given that full-time status at Venterra is defined as working thirty hours or more per week, I’d love to have a better understanding of your time spent with us. It’s important that we’re consistent in terms of each team member’s work status and related benefits. Ensuring that we didn’t miss the mark in your case could help prevent future issues or confusion.
