I worked at Ventyx full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

if you don't have any other option, then this is the place to be for a little while. Sorry cannot think of any real pros ..really tried to write something good but no luck.

    Cons

Everyone is terrified to loose their job so they don't share information, and that makes it very very difficult for new hires to ramp up.
Employees who are there since pre historic age still wants to do stuff that was relevant then, but not now..and they don't realize that.
Some folks only want to travel, get miles, rewards etc ..and that forces them to not give newcomers any opportunity to meet with customers and learn quickly.
HR dept also does not take any action when official complains are made ..they talk to you to find the issue and then , no action..lets say the matter was really serious and companies have been sued for this kind of allegation.
Management does not know what to do ..every few months there is a restructure, deserving people don't get a chance, I can go on ..

    Advice to Management

Start caring for your employees..don't think that ABB owns Ventyx so all is well with ventyx also. ABB has done a good job growing to where they are today, basking in their glory will not last long and eventually ABB will just detach you as the Ventyx group does not think innovation to stay ahead in the industry ..

    Pros

None. None. None. Do I say none? I meant to say none.

    Cons

This company has no interest in the employees. All they care about is getting their numbers for the quarter. Forget about bonuses or raises. If you're happy with 2% raise then this is perfect company for you.
The management is very very bad. There are too many of them and they keep adding more. As for employees, they just keep hiring idiots who don't know anything, and you end up doing their work on top of yours.

    Advice to Management

    Fire yourselves.

    Pros

The only pro that I can think of is that this position is a stepping stone to my next opportunity.

    Cons

Poor leadership from management. Poor communication skills from management. Staffing constraints are causing product releases to be distributed with defects or causing processes to fail. Minimal to non-existant training, which causes an extreme learning curve, about a year. It should NOT take a year for someone to learn their job just enough to answer basic questions. There are some things that only one person knew how to do, and they left the company. Which in turn leaves everyone else to play the guessing game on doing their job.

    Advice to Management

Lower management should take some leadership training. Upper management should look into the departments with high turnover to see what the root cause is.

I have been working at Ventyx full-time

    Pros

It is a really flexible environment. Lots of learning and growth opportunities if you work within the right group. Exposure to diverse group of clients.

    Cons

Basically NO training. If you do not have any work experience, it is not a great place to work as you will be learning everything by yourself. HR is extremely inefficient and you have to resolve your own problems.

    Advice to Management

Start a good training program. You are wasting money here.

    Pros

Policies are good to some extent, if you are technical and willing to contribute without recognition and with less salary you have good chance of trying.Good for those beginning career. Good for contracting, contract will get extension for sure.

    Cons

Management never cars about employee, for this company Human resource is not the main asset. don't join on H1B, they don't want to process GC for good employees.

    Advice to Management

please remove all you middle management, who are from old school of factory, this is the quick and best solution.

I worked at Ventyx full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Few good people

    Some WFH

    Pay is competitive

    Interesting domain

Backed up by strong parent company through ABB

    Cons

Extremely hostile and toxic work culture

    Company numbers are plummeting

I am surprised to see none of the directors and VP have been let go who are the real culprits.

These guys are completely brash and arrogant and un professional folks I have come across. They yell at people and cut people off.Want results but without understanding situation.Totally un-appreciative of the overworked staff.Complete air heads when it comes to processes.Stuck in 80s mode.

If you are looking for fun work place, this is not it.

    Advice to Management

Listen to people who do actual work.

Get rid of VPs and Directors

    Pros

Some good people exist in the company.

    Cons

The company is run by a bunch of idiots. The EVP's rely on information from there VP's who are keeping themselves in power. The teams, clients, and ultimately the bottom line are all hurt by a group of managers that gut the resources of the company.

    Advice to Management

To the EVP's....Let go of all of your VP's. You are relying on them to get you information and nothing is changing. Cutting costs is obviously one way to save the company, but by letting everyone go that is actually doing the work, you will be left with little to sell in the future, resources to do the work, burned out people who are left who were already stretched too thin.

I have been working at Ventyx full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good here. You may have the opportunity to work from home but that depends on what group you're in. Its accepted in some groups others not so much. There are really good talented people here.

    Cons

ABB Enterprise has a horrible reputation for sugar coating. They are really good at it. This place is the absolute worst. We literally had 3 CEO's in one year and they never addressed it. They laid off a number of employees, never addressed it. People misbehave and are VERY unprofessional, they don't address it. It's a very hostile environment and they allow it. You can't go to the group that should handle those types of issues but please don't waste your time; they will let you down. Trust me, they always "LOOK THE OTHER WAY" Its like they hide behind the parent company expecting all the bad things to go away because they have integrated. Do not be fooled, it's the same place. Same weak leadership and upper management that pride themselves on never addressing issues. They paint a picture of what this place should be and what they believe it to be but it's nothing like that. Employees are underappreciated. They pay well because they have to, no one wants to work here and they know it. If I had to guess I would honestly say majority of the employees here are miserable. This company doesn't know how to treat people nor does it know anything about the industry it's in. Be aware. No policies, no procedures, no morals or ethics. You be the judge.

    Advice to Management

It doesn't matter they aren't going to address it.

I have been working at Ventyx full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Depending on where you work within the company you can deal with some awesome people and can learn a lot to progress a career.

    Cons

The con is the opposite of the pro. Depending on which part of the business you work in, you can find our self with negative and challenging people. There is a lot of potential with ABB but doesn't appear to be integrated well enough to drive success.

    Advice to Management

Keep positive. Be a good communicator. Align with owners, ABB. If the integration of Ventyx with ABB's business and sales matures, that would be cool.

    Pros

People you work with on a day-to-day basis are very nice and competent.

    Cons

Long hours. People leaving the company are never replaced. Obsession with an "agile" methodology that is anything but. Dictate the technology first, then try to force the products to fit even when it's not appropriate for the requirements.

    Advice to Management

If you don't want to lose every customer you have - start hiring enough people to fulfill their support requirements. Also, if you're truly "agile", then start valuing your people over the process.
