I have been working at Veolia full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the people are good

    Cons

Too mush favoritism, a lot of politics and corruption. Does not promote the good people they do have, that deserve it. Pay is not great, and raises are never given out.

    Advice to Management

Get better better people in management, give more raises.

    Pros

Given some freedom to do what you need

    Cons

Very rigid hierarchy and people in power are very abrasive. There is a constant exodus in the company and it makes it tough to get anything done

    Advice to Management

    Lighten up a little

I worked at Veolia full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Collaborative co-workers, focus on safety. Was a great company prior to the current North American (NA) CEO taking over.

    Cons

The current NA CEO is a hinderance to success. Very dictatorial style and has unrealistic expectations of those in senior management. Rather than surround himself with diverse others, he's surrounded himself with his cronies from the legcy Energy division. He is not open to others' feedback and is a 'my way or the highway' type manager. Very sad.

    Cons

Management solves all problems with cuts, almost ZERO chance to grow from within.

I worked at Veolia full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Overall I enjoyed the work for a long time, the challenge the constant learning but then.....

    Cons

Upper mgmt decided on a reduction in force and my work load became unbearable, then to find out I was being paid less than my male counterparts who had less responsibilities. The stress was so bad and the hours so long. !. there was no work life balance and 2. people were waiting for me to have a heart attack or stroke.
I do not miss the politics, or the nonsense.

    Advice to Management

In training after training for more than a decade I heard "Our employees are aour number one asset.... my suggestion PAY ATTENTION TO THEM AND LISTEN TO THEM WHEN THEY TELL YOU SOMETHING IS WRONG

I worked at Veolia full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, bonus payout every year.

    Cons

Very political, no real growth unless you were in the "in" crowd. I made numerous requests to get more involved due to my knowledge of the operations we had (I was there 7 years), which led to.......nothing. I did generate a massive amount of revenue/cost savings from an Accounting role which covered my personal payroll costs to the company (over $1m) and still no kudos from Senior Management. I don't miss it one bit......

    Advice to Management

Eh, why bother......they know everything already.......

    I worked at Veolia full-time

    Pros

Most of the people were good to work with

    Cons

Safety, Safety, Safety. Too many vehicles were not in working condition and duck tape was a common tool to fix and repair parts.

    Advice to Management

Spend more money on equipment and repairing equipment.

    Cons

Lack of training and mislead on actual job responsibilities when hired . Disorganized . A lot of companies under company umbrella and not consistent with plans and fairness

    Advice to Management
