I worked at Vera Bradley (Less than a year)

    Pros

The customers and coworkers are all so friendly.

    Cons

    There are no cons

    Advice to Management

I understand customer service is priority but perhaps some restrictions should be in place so customers do not take advantage of the return or exchange policy

I have been working at Vera Bradley part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They work with your schedule if you are in school. They spoil their employees. The atmosphere is a lot different than other retail
    stores!

    Cons

There weren't any cons working here!

    Advice to Management

    None

I worked at Vera Bradley as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Vera Bradley is a great place to work. Everyone is very friendly. This internship is not the "fetching coffee" type. You are given meaningful projects and assigned a mentor who works with you throughout the summer. You get to have lunch with different executives within the company on a weekly basis and at the end of the internship present to the company on what you did over the summer. There are all sorts of fun company events and the culture is professional, but not stiff. The dress code allows for denim and it is a comfortable working environment. I would recommend this company to anyone!

    Cons

Honestly I can't think of any cons. It can feel a little cliquey at times but some people have been at the company since it started and was a lot smaller. Everyone is still really welcoming.

    Advice to Management

Continue building on what you have! You have a great thing going.

I have been working at Vera Bradley part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free scarves every quarter, free lunches on holiday weekends, great pay, flexible hours, warm, welcoming environment, you get to earn Vera Bucks to spend in store!

    Cons

Schedule changes often (its retail!), some days are slow and very boring, if customers complain about pricing or coupons, we usually have to grant it anyways because if they call corporate, they will do the same. Corporate should enforce policies and have the backs of store employees while we try to keep Vera Bradley's image amazing and not cheap.

    Advice to Management

Promote employees from within more often, better training for new employees (and retraining for seasoned employees), more strict rules on ways of the business (specific policies are very fuzzy and range from store to store)

I worked at Vera Bradley full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Loved the culture, people, and ownership. The founders of the company are real and very caring supportive leaders. Retail is a tough job, this place was fun.

    Cons

Going through some growth pains. Brand is trying to elevate offerings and become a bit more modern. Latest collections look amazing but time will tell how new and existing customers react. I separated with the company in 2014 but it was a very classy and amicable separation. Very good people.

    Advice to Management

None. Too easy for me to be a backseat driver. I am sure current management has a plan and is executing it.
