I worked at Verengo Solar full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good bonus structure. Everyone you work with is close and looks out for one another. It felt like family. Good work life balance.

    Cons

In the last four years the company steadily declined. There was never a clear process on workflows and things were always constantly changing. Eventually the company tanked.

    Pros

The opportunity to make money was great. Also the opportunity to start with a company on the bottom floor.

    Cons

Server sr. Level changes made is hard to get any traction. To many hands in pot so to speak

    Advice to Management

Keep with an idea or direction and allow the data to tell you if it works. Don't be so quick to pivot to something else because you don't have instant success

I have been working at Verengo Solar full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good people working there, good company to start a new career as electrician or installer. All the chief command is very mellow. they let you work, no pressure. You can mess it up and they will be patient with you. The environment is good.

    Cons

low pay, there is not raise at all. you can work 6 month or 3 years and there is not raise. These company is always experiencing cost problems. they never found out how to make business without losing tons of money so finally employees pay the cost. they went bankruptcy and another company will absorb part of the company. so maybe they will be better.

    Advice to Management

Schedule installs and services close to the employee. you try to save money cutting here and there but you spend it all in gas. You cross employees driving everywhere. People in Arizona don't Care about driving. In special Manda from Arizona.

I worked at Verengo Solar full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy-going environment, not micro-managed, pay was decent

    Cons

Lack of communication/direction, constant lay-offs with NO notice, lies and cover-ups from CEO and upper leaders, not a fun culture like it used to be at all

    Advice to Management

Company changed direction to not being a "sales" company anymore to just doing installations which probably fits their skillset the best but obviously they screwed over lots of people to get there when they claimed it wouldn't happen. Never set realistic expectations and always asked for the impossible regardless of reality. Try just being decent human beings and be upfront with your staff when crap is going to go down so you don't mess up peoples lives who were loyal to and stuck through all it all to the end.

I worked at Verengo Solar full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    * Solid training.
    * Supportive Managers at the field level.

    Cons

    * Almost no communication from upper management.
    * Unstable organizational structure.
    * Miscues on how leads are handled. Preference is given to inside sales team.
    * Mixed signals on how to sell. The incentives are to sell the product at a higher price but they market themselves as a low price competitor.

    Advice to Management

Make up your mind on who you want to be. The perception from employees is that you are focused on orchestrating a company exit strategy to be acquired or sold.

    Pros

One of the best solar companies on the planet. That said it is fast paced and not an easy dollar. Great place to start if you can get up to speed quick. No stragglers. All in all it is worth the experience working for Verengo.

    Cons

Selling for Verengo is fun when things are going well. This never lasts. Had 3 sales managers in one year in Orange County. Most sales reps there move on voluntarily or are pushed out within a year or two. They often brag about how many people they have hired not mentioning the churn.

    Advice to Management

Do what it takes to hang on to good people.

I worked at Verengo Solar full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working at Verengo has advantages for a person who is very persistant and does not take no for an answer. The company has a great training program as well.

    Cons

They have extremely high turnover and fail to understand the differentiation in customer bases across the regions and how to best influence customer decisions.

    Advice to Management

More comprehensive advertising program and a diversified offering. The limited equipment and financing options left many customers unsatisfied and often lead to cancellations in contracts.
