I worked at Verengo Solar (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good Money flexible schedule, could be a great opportunity

    Cons

Unorganized you could have 4 appointments 1 day and then 0 for the next 4 days. Lot of door to door residential canvassing.

    Advice to Management

The way the business was run don't think it will last.

I worked at Verengo Solar full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

When I first started working here we all had the common goal to make the company better. We all were more tight knit and helped each other out.

    Cons

We got bought out like every other small corporation. They completely changed the dynamic and feel in the office. They started fire people immediately to overhaul so they could bring in new people for a lot less money then they were having to pay us. Corporate is corporate. They will squeeze the life out of you while at the same time making every effort to pay you as little as possible.

    Pros

Very good people, great industry to be a part of, room to grow with the company and the industry in general

    Pros

Verengo Solar is top shelf in residential solar training! Everyone there is extremely helpful in continuing to learn since residential solar is all about custom construction jobs with solar electric systems.

    Cons

The industry is unstable due to the boom and bust elements of a new industry that is under attack by utilities and regulators as pricing becomes more competitive.

    Advice to Management

Base compensation on all forms of revenue and/ or controlling costs; utilize scaled down open book management ("open pipeline management") at the department or position level since Verengo Solar is privately held.

I have been working at Verengo Solar full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

We are strong and moving forward. We see lots of new opportunities opening up and are getting the picture of our new vision for the future....to be California's Solar Company. While there have been some stormy seas, there is a new hope and vision on the horizon. I would expect to see some big things in the coming months from Verengo. As a team we are optimistic for a "Sunny Future."

    Cons

There is not the same culture as before. Less fun, less appreciation, but I know not all hope is lost.

    Advice to Management

We miss the fun! Think of more creative ways to bring to joy back to Verengo. Team Building???

  10. "Good Company That Needs A Boost"

    StarStarStarStarStar
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Los Angeles, CA
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Los Angeles, CA

I worked at Verengo Solar (Less than a year)

    Pros

Energetic company that can blossom…they are still one of the top residential solar companies in the nation, but management seems to have given up…EXPAND FIND MORE $!

    Cons

The call center bombards potential customers as soon as they get the lead, expected quotas are not too realistic sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Expand into new markets (specifically Florida once the law gets reformed to allow for third-party energy providers). Update the company software. Address negative customers reviews on review websites.
