    Pros

It's a company that is a family at heart, and the products have interesting problems to solve.

    Cons

Upper management is really disconnected from the rest of the company. Middle management, as a result, is unfocused and leading badly.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your people. Listen to them. And then explain how your plans for the future are compatible with their future at the company. Also, get some management training, don't just wing it.

Many incompetent employees that are coddled by management instead of being held accountable or let go.
Many immature gossiping petty people at all levels.
Project managers that don't have the skill sets to do the job.

I have been working at Verifone full-time

    Pros

The people I work with are great and very talented.

    Cons

Oh there are so many cons. Top mangers love to hire abusive mid and upper managers. I reported to a manger who is bi polar and is a bully and controller. Ruined my long standing career, because I wasn't his "yes" person. Don't be fooled by the CEO golden words and e mails. He is only after one thing and that is making his upper managers get their large bonuses. He could care less about other lower level employers. The CEO is also a control "freak". The man is NOT to be trusted along with the other 99% top managers. I have work for VFI for many years and I know of only two top managers who treat their people with respect. One of these managers was "de-moted" by the CEO, and was replaced with a self centered so called leader. NO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. It's very toxic to your personal and professional pride. BTW HR knows all about the bullies and does NOTHING about it. I know I've been to HR several times, until you know nothing will be done and the bulling keeps on coming.

    Advice to Management

Read the book "The HP Way". Of wait if you did you wouldn't understand how to treat workers with respect. That's from your directors on up the ladder to the so called leader CEO.
