    Pros

Knowledgeable people, Strong product set. Overall coworkers are supportive of each other and willing to help each other navigate the company.

Pay is well under industry standard, raises are uncommon. If you are interviewing with Verint, negotiate your starting salary accordingly.

    Advice to Management

    Reward strong performance.

    Pros

The work is exciting and very innovative. Working with Clients was also exciting and interesting.

    Cons

They're in a bad financial position right now and have been having layoffs every quarter since I started a year ago.

    Advice to Management

Empower your employees, don't undervalue their capabilities. Invest in your employees and provide the consistent training to ensure the Project Managers are equipped with the best practices such Agile Training, PMP certifications, etc.

I worked at Verint Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Coworkers are nice.
    Free coffee.
Office is closed the week between Christmas and New Years.
The office was close to my house.

    Cons

Departments are very siloed. I found myself working on projects with one set of requirements only to find out that someone from another department would be working on basically the same thing.

Upper management is technology adverse, which seems strange for a technology company.

    Advice to Management

Upper management is definitely set in their ways. It takes a long time and lots of data for them to be open to any change. Embrace the technology that you have already invested in.

I have been working at Verint Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nothing over the basic expected with a company of this size or larger. No WOW factors.

    Cons

Poor leadership. Fails to understand the expertise of those running the line and Director level. Losing too many that truly understand the cloud. None of Verint's core products (WFO/WFM) will be cloud ready for years. Much work to reverse engineer the product.

    Advice to Management

Stop buying cloud companies to lead the charge for the core SW you sell. WFO/WFM will take YEARS of work to break down to modular and API driven scopes. Other companies have been driving this for over a decade. This means we are that far behind. It's not a new concept to get excited about; we are, again, that fair behind.

I worked at Verint Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I started with GMT, the startup that Verint purchased. During that time there was much freedom and readily available support to do your job with great work/life balance.

    Cons

After the purchase and moving to the publicly traded corporate world, that all changed. Being held to training metrics that were not in my personal control; these were used to determine your yearly salary increases. Training was that; training. travel 95% and no work/life balance.

    Pros

Family oriented, flexible, nice new building in Santa Clara

    Cons

Outdated model, did not feel like working in Silicon Valley, "corporate" not supportive of new or progressive ideas

    Advice to Management

Put a true technology head where they belong- in Silicone Valley

    Pros

+ Balanced work hours, very comfortable for working parents.
+ CEO, President and other Cxx get really nice salaries/bonuses (but with no correlation to their or the company's results).
+ Employees are mostly really nice to each other but in many cases they don't like to share information.

    Cons

    - in the Santa Clara office - the salaries are ridiculously low for this area. if someone says they pay good he must be referring to the Atlanta office or somewhere else in the world, NOT in Santa Clara.
    - SC office is dying, lots of politics and very little doing.
    - managers are dead from the inside, no vision no future - that's the burned tree that's dead from the inside but looks alive from the outside.
    - Almost zero investment in the employees. i.e. you need to fight someone or wait for someone to get fired to get a second screen! Developers and QA engineers must have 2 screens to get higher productivity. The company only cares about saving few dollars.
    - Winter time, it's cold outside and surprisingly extremely cold inside too. Heating system stopped working and it took over 2 weeks to fix - if it would have happened in your house wouldn't you fix it in a day or max 2 days?? but if you are the cheapest company in the valley, it might take over 2 weeks to fix... sad, really really sad since it wasn't so just few years ago.
    - The atmosphere in general in the Santa Clara office is not that good.
    - Most Employees are looking for a new jobs, ask them if they want to stay there and why do they hide Gayle's book - "Cracking the Code Interview".

    Advice to Management

Every company with brunches has a Champion for each of its sites. Verint decided to remove the Santa Clara Champion who built this site for long years and was an amazing person who respected everyone and was a good listener and a true leader. From that point things in Santa Clara started started descending/crushing.

I have been working at Verint Systems full-time

    Pros

Company has robust contact center footprint with excellent pre-sales resources. Stable product with new QA program leads to reference customers.

    Cons

Treatment of employees is horrible. HR group is very paranoid and is fake, deceptive and non-transparent. Management is bi-polar with regards to customer treatment causing very unhappy customers.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the Oracle/Salesforce.com mentality, ditch your HR group and get back to customer satisfaction. You are advising you clients on methods to improve CSTAT while yours is in the tank. Not credible.
