I worked at Verio full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

From 1998-2002 it was great. Stock Option checks. Dot com boom. Was a growing company and promotions were handed out like stock options. It was a lot of fun.

    Cons

    Getting laid off in 2002.

    Advice to Management

The management is all different now.

    Pros

Moves fast and has a very innovative culture. There is great collaboration and focus on getting things done that matters.

    Cons

If you do not keep up and anticipate what you belong or what the customer needs, you do not belong. If you need help or are anxious to learn more, there are plenty of resources available.

    Advice to Management

Keep taking good care of the employees as they take great care of the customer.

    Pros

Everyone here is very nice. We have bbq's during the summer. Each team has their own activities throughout the year.

    Cons

Teams are spread out, so the overall company doesn't seem very cohesive.

  5. "Great place to work"

I worked at Verio full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

fun people, innovative environment, cutting edge technology and being able to help other companies promote their business via the internet. The company used to be the 800 pound gorilla.

    Cons

Too may changes in leadership over the years and changes in direction took a great company from amazing to behind the times and finally no longer relevant.

    Advice to Management

They should stick with a plan and then see it through. Their reseller model was so flawed and upper management ignored advice from the front line that could have really helped the business. The business failed because of senior management.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Verio full-time

    Pros

Good Benefits, 401K, Insurance, employee discounts, nice amount of vacation/sick time

    Cons

Hourly pay rates not the best in the world

    Pros

Good benefits, free web hosting, friendly people. Got to travel to Miami for training. People are passionate about technologies, which is good because they're so engaged. Verio tends to have a positive reputation, generally speaking. The company as a whole was moving in the right direction.

    Cons

No more public stock options. The company was going through growing pains and it was hard to find advancement opportunities. It was only when I told them I planned on leaving that I was offered more pay. It would have been nice to have been offered more pay up front instead of having to find a better job offer first.

    Advice to Management

Keep working on server uptime to reach superior levels. Some of the servers don't function at the enterprise level. Provide more information about the company's strategies and direction.
