    Pros

Minting money and will do so for a few years to come

    Cons

But the well is drying-up and the company has been unsuccessful in turning direction. Things will get ugly over the coming year as projections of negative growth will cause finger-pointing.
Founder CEO has lost touch and lives a bubble when the 1st Clinton was President.

    Advice to Management

    None - they already know

I have been working at Verisign full-time

    Pros

Company has great products and technology. It's pleasure working with smart people. In my team we are always motivated to think outside the box. Analysis is done to the deepest level and technical brainstorming is thorough. Detailed planning is expected from every member of the team.
Apart from great learning opportunity, company provides great benefits. Flexible work hours, best work-life balance, on-site 24x7 full fledged gym facility with instructor training, in campus basket ball, tennis courts, great location in Reston.

    Cons

Due to cut throat competition among team members, everyone tries to please the supervisor leading to politics and favoritism. Higher management encourages to identify 2 champions per team and feed them with all accolades. This leads to complacency of top 2 and demoralization of other team members. Some managers are very macro managers and don't take critics positively.
other cons: Very slow promotion, if you are in good book you will be promoted irrespective of your skills, talent; many deserving good engineers leave due to no promotion.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your engineers about their managers. Find the better way to retain good engineers. Most social employee is not the best employee.

I worked at Verisign full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Interesting tech work for the most part (but not enough of it).

    2. Excellent work-life balance

    3. Strong tech employees/ engineers

    4. Competitive compensation for the most part.

    5. Excellent benefits

    Cons

    1. Verisign is a one-trick pony, content to milk it's com/net monopoly for as long as it can. However, that lack of revenue diversity means they are one outage away from being destroyed as a company. Best case, they'll be a 500-person company in a few years. Get ready for big layoffs.

    2. Senior management (director and above) are some of the worst I've seen in my career. Political hacks with virtually no tech game. Causing an exodus of top-notch tech talent to competitors. Verisign senior management wouldn't recognize talent if it walked up and bit them in the nose.

    Advice to Management

    One of two options:

    1. Sell the company and return value to shareholders while it's still there; or

    2. Merge with a stronger company to provide revenue diversity.

I have been working at Verisign full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great salary, great benefits, 70% off lunch, very stable company

    Cons

No competitive spirit. Energy spent on lots of internal fights and analysis on top of analysis on top of even more analysis. All hands meetings are a joke. They dont even take questions

    Advice to Management

Focus outwards in stead of inwards. Be honest with employees

I worked at Verisign full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Mid Size company with little to no competition in the market. Stable revenue and people stay on the average of 20 years.

    Cons

Everything needs to be approved by legal from marketing materials and contracts. In addition, the executive leadership team approves everything. The company is very risk adverse and they focus on the domain business and no so much on the other depts

    Advice to Management

The leadership is dysfunctional and it's starts with the CEO. Too many infighting and the employees are collateral damage

    Pros

    Good work/life balance
Company is financially stable and performance.
    Compensation is above market

    Cons

Limited opportunity for advancement. Middle management never provides opportunities to employees to gain exposure, thus limiting advancement opportunities.
Politics among executive and management ranks. Cannot agree on direction and overall strategy as conflicts are regular occurrence between organizations of the key leadership teams.

    Advice to Management

Besides the corporate strategy, get on the same page on the plan to execute on the strategy. This is where opinions differ.

I worked at Verisign full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I liked working for this company. Even as a large corporation, they take care of their employees.

    Cons

I was there less than a year due to Verisign selling us to TNS. But, business is business. =D
