I have been working at Verisign (More than a year)

    Pros

They have a monopoly on managing the domain names for most of the internet. So very stable.

A building full of the smartest people I have ever met. We are all dependent on them to keep the internet running, and they do it well.

    I worked at Verisign full-time

    Pros

Their commitment to innovation and to collaborating to create new solutions is what sets the company apart from its rivals. It's one of few places I've worked where failure would not cost you your job.

    Cons

Lack of telecommuting options despite great daytime flexibility. Certain positions more recognized by leadership than others (this is true of many employers though).

    Advice to Management

Keep focus on innovation; maybe look to different sectors than engineers to recognize.

I worked at Verisign (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, flexible work schedule, decent management. If you perform, they do a great job of rewarding you with stock and bonus.

    Cons

Unless you're in management it's difficult to get a promotion, even though they promote that there is a technical career path track for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Weed out the people skating by and reward those who are getting the work done.
