    Pros

Excellent experience working with healthcare software, honed my skills in analyzing data, marketing data, SFDC, met great people and not too far from home

    Cons

It seemed that Executive Management wasn't sure where or what their long-term vision was, it seemed to change every quarter.

    Advice to Management

To keep the vision of the company as transparent to all employees and to have it stay as the vision past the quarter, not keep changing it.

I worked at Verisk Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Wonderful team of clinicians, developers and customer-facing professionals.
-Strong focus on customer enhancement/development requests aligned with industry/compliance requirements

    Cons

-Overseas (Nepal) IT/data aggregation not favored by some domestic customers. State-side processes have helped overcome that concern, however.

    Advice to Management

Continue to embrace compliance needs of customers to remain current and maintain present book of business, as well as encourage references.

I worked at Verisk Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There were a lot of great people working there.

    Cons

A lot of management (higher level) was disconnected from what actually happens and needs to happen, and they can't be bothered to learn. Employees are expected to trust developers and managers in diverse locations which gets projects into trouble when expectations are not met, expectations which many of the rank and file understand.

    Advice to Management

Visit the various sites to learn what goes on there. Don't travel to the office and then hole up in an office for days and then leave, which happens over and over and over. With so much "leadership" coming from one location, get those people to at least talk with employees when they're onsite!

I have been working at Verisk Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Awesome people, newer technologies, mostly good management

    Cons

CTO, Jim Lammers, is a complete idiot

    Advice to Management

Most of upper management brings something great to the table, but the CTO Jim Lammers is both uninspiring, lacks technical expertise, doesn't connect with his employees, and lacks vision.

    Pros

Steady, job security, Benefits, PTO, great company

    Cons

The place is run by team leads who are children. They gossip all day at their desks, and play into politics. The only way to get promoted to a team lead position is to be buddies with current team leads.

    Advice to Management

Grow up, quit the politics, promote employees who have real life experience in management and not just those who kiss Butt and have buddies in management.

I worked at Verisk Health (More than 3 years)

    Pros

In the Draper Retrieval Center there are a couple of key leaders in operations that have been able to have significant influence over their areas. They are why people stay and are successful. They are focused on the right things and invest their time appropriately.

    Cons

The rest of the management team should be completely replaced. They don't care and are totally inept. Worse, they are not held accountable by their bosses who also seem to not care and refuse to take any responsibility. They make bad decision after bad decision.

    Advice to Management

You better start looking at your leadership team and inspecting their work. Attitude of the staff is a direct reflection of leadership, and right now you have people barely hanging on. It spite of the horrendous obstacle of poor Sr. Leadership a couple of managers have somehow kept the ship afloat.

    Pros

It is very laid back. Everyone is very nice. The building is also very nice. Plenty of space to park. The parking lot is never overloaded.

    Cons

They give you free sodas, I cannot stop myself from getting sprite. This is bad only because sugar is not good for your teeth. ha! Honestly. One of the bad things I would have to say is that it is a little too rowdy at times..in terms of socialness. What do you expect when everyone in site is a engineer!

    Advice to Management

Don't bully the engineers. Also dont just listen to one side of the story. Listen to all ends. Stop involving the engineers in silly politics. THere is no time for things that have no business value. GROW UP!
