I have been working at Verisys part-time

    Pros

Excellent benefit package for full and part-time employees. Since recent move the environment is fun, spacious and relaxed. Excellent mentors, leads, supervisors and managers.

    Cons

Too many team building games that border on the silly. This company is blessed with a boat load of team players and don't seem to realize it. Meetings - to many, stand ups, sit downs, at least two a week and most a waste of time. Some subject matter could be handled via email.

    Advice to Management

Continue the good work and continue to listen and heed advice from those who do the work.

I have been working at Verisys full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The processes at Verisys are pretty good, and have usually clear direction. Working in small teams is great, especially because with all other developers work nearby and are willing to help anytime.

    Cons

They're an old company trying to fit into today's new fun tech companies. The 'fun' is still missing. Other than steady work, there's not much to look forward to at work.

    Advice to Management

Recognize and celebrate successes at a smaller level.

I worked at Verisys full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Good wages and benefits for entry-level positions

    Cons

Middle management simply took orders from the people above them who were far too removed from the day-to-day work of the employees running the core operations of the company to actually understand how to make their company run better. When the company was doing well, everyone assumed that nothing could be improved; when the company was struggling, blame was simply thrust from senior management down the chain to entry-level...

    Advice to Management

Middle management are simply taking orders — I'd reexamine their roles altogether because they just don't provide much value to the company as currently constructed. Senior management should understand that they need to invest in, deliberately seek out, and hire experienced software engineering talent to manage the technological infrastructure if they're going to achieve their long-term goals. The developers currently...

I have been working at Verisys full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Verisys has a lot of great people to work with, and they have a great mission.

    Cons

Too much time is spent overcoming past mistakes of others.

    Advice to Management

You have to spend money to make money.

I have been working at Verisys full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great training, understanding management, nice benefits package Helpful when asking questions. There are opportunities to cross train

    Cons

Focus on numbers and getting work done. Software is developed in-house and there's miscommunication on the way the future software should work. Lots of tracking and documentation of processes Can get repetitive

    Advice to Management

Explain the reasons for the processes developed. Provide charts to employees about the structure of the orgainization.

I worked at Verisys full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

I enjoyed working with this company as a Production Analyst. It harbors a highly competitive atmosphere and will work with your schedule.

    Cons

I received a promotion within the company and was retaliated against by the team I joined. In summary, the senior coordinator refused to provide adequate training and even told me to reach out to management of other departments to assist with questions I had. I expressed my concerns to management and HR which were dismissed after various meetings and did not resolve the issue at hand. The new position I took on also had...

    Advice to Management

If an employee is expressing complaints of retaliation and provides sufficient evidence of such, take them seriously and investigate further. If I had felt as though my concerns were being addressed and were not chopped up to personality differences I may have considered staying.

    I worked at Verisys

    Pros

Coworkers are ethical and work hard. Most employees are friendly.

    Cons

Advancement is based on whether or not you are liked by managers, not by merit. Employees are not respected or valued by managers and some openly criticize other employees. Company policy is they dont pay out your vacation time if you leave and if they end your employment they keep your vacation hours and do not pay you for what you have earned. Insurance for families is too expensive and most employees cannot afford...

I have been working at Verisys full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Working for a Verisys great! Understanding its mission to keep people safe while helping organizations like hospitals, pharmacies, payers, and government agencies stay in compliance is feels like something worthwhile. I'm not just a number, and the product is not just another software fad. It saves lives.

    Cons

The company is growing, but I have heard a few folks were laid off a few months ago. Layoffs are never easy. I understand firms sometimes have to take one step backward to go two steps forward. I would say honor the memory of the past and create a future that you will be proud of for years to come.

    Advice to Management

Growth is excellent - finding great talent here in Utah is challenging. Keep the significant benefits and pay while creating a company culture for all.

    I worked at Verisys full-time

    Pros

One of my favorite reasons for working here was the opportunity to work with a lot of smart and kind people. I have often told others my favorite part of being at this company was knowing I was helping protect patients.

    Cons

When the other reviewers say things have changed, they aren't kidding. It's been a big year for Verisys and I think a lot of it is growing pains (emphasis on the pains). Some teams are more supported as a whole internally than others which can be challenging.

    Advice to Management

I know you think that you're being transparent, but you're not. Not to the level that your teams need. A lot of people have been confused by why we would lay off people in one department and go on a hiring spree in another. They are scared to ask and don't feel like they have job security. The teams also need leaders with exceptional emotional intelligence. The type of work that we do attracts people who are comfortable...
