    Pros

Good benefits, decent pay, that's all.

    Cons

Not a "people first" company, what's wrong with corporate America, so disappointed in the company.

    Advice to Management

I worked at VZW for 10 plus years. I liked my job, I liked the people I worked with. I started in retail & moved to the call center - worked my way to an administrative assistant. In my time there I went above & beyond - working late nights & early mornings in a variety of positions thinking it would mean something. I was laid off because my job was "restructured" when I was 3 weeks into maternity leave. I received a phone call telling me this when my newborn daughter was asleep on my shoulder & I had no family or friends there to support me because it came out of no where. I was put on speakerphone & let go through a script. It was cold, it was unfeeling, it was poorly timed, it was inexcusable. My advice to management: know your employees, do the right thing. You've laid off thousands of people this year - I wasn't going to write a review but I am disgusted that I now know of 3 people who were out on leave for surgery, maternity, etc who have been let go. It's not a coincidence. You need to stop being driven by the $ & start being driven by the good employees you still have.

I have been working at Verizon full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great pay, good benefits and good stock options and 401k plans. Union protection and support.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations, not very family friendly. Untrustworthy about future of departments.

    Advice to Management

Verizon should follow positive enforcement rather than negative. Follow through w/promises made. Reward accomplishes made rather than punish them and close offices.
