I worked at Verizon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits, pay after being there years, plentiful jobs

    Cons

Competion, gossip, middle management let some supervisors do it all.

    Advice to Management

Middle management needs to quit looking the wrong way and and watch what your supervisors are up to. They could be plotting to take your job!

I have been working at Verizon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Excellent Health Insurance and Benefits

    Cons

Left Hand don't know what the right Hands doing
    Layoffs all the Time
If your company gets bought by VZ jump ship- They don't even take the time to learn your job before shipping you off.. - Sad but true..

    Advice to Management

Management- "How can you run a business this way"
No communication.. Why is Verizon Wireless the only part of the business that is making money.. Hello shouldn't that tell you that Verizon Business isn't functioning the way it should.. Listen to the lower peeps (Maybe you should go on Undercover Boss) and really see what is truly happening.. Management is slow and not robust..

    Pros

Education benefits are great, medical benefits are good or best but better than most, will recommend college students to apply at Verizon

    Cons

Too much politics learn from other technology companies like amazon, Facebook and google how to take care employees. Very intelligent employees are working in bottom

    Advice to Management

Upper management need to help lower level employees

I have been working at Verizon full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Very good pay for an entry level job into the IT/help desk field and coworkers are overwhelmingly nice, helpful, and real team atmosphere. Couple that with some great benefits in 401k and health insurance.

    Cons

Unfortunately there is very very limited opportunity to move up or expand to any other job titles. Even with lots of experience and being over qualified you may get an occasional interview for a management position but it will be given to a current management team member. Nonstop pressure from management even if all metrics are exceeded make it a high-pressure environment. Vacation structure is slow and sick days are very restrictive.

    Advice to Management

Understandably everything is about the bottom line, but constant, unwarranted pressure and disciplinary threats do not make employees work harder or smarter.

I have been working at Verizon as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Awesome culture and attire is casual! Slight silicone valley vibe. Fast paced environment. Great resources and opportunities. Management is awesome and always willing to listen to your goals. If you live outside of 50 mile radius, they pay for housing and transportation as well as travel stipend.

    Cons

Location is dry but close enough to take a train to NYC. I don't have bad things to say because my 10 week experience
    Has been awesome.
