I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

At the time I worked there 2008-2013 Insurance took 30 days to kick in and it was okay insurance several choices. Received annual Bonus every February provided you are not on a warning 2-4k depending on position and your rating. Lots of training it's like 3 mos long before you're on a team taking calls. time off is good they give it to you up front and it is a lot, not having to work to earn it..They pay the night time shift 10% diff and 35% to work on a Sunday.

    Cons

Crazy busy, they really don't care for you as a person total numbers game micro managed. There are so many changes that happen daily, I would come in 15-20 minutes early to read about them all and reps's knew more then the supervisors. Favoritism as far as job advancements or even when writing up employees. Basically the only advancement is going to the tech team still taking calls. Very stressful to walk in and have 200- 300 calls waiting. Shift bids every 6 mos could barely ever get an earlier shift.

    Advice to Management

Stop telling new hires this is not a sales job! Yes it is and the favoritism supervisors showed needs to be looked at.

    Pros

Great atmosphere with outstanding benefits. Company culture is top notch. Verizon goes above and beyond for their employees.

    Cons

Diversity is a buzz work at Verizon. Being the best, the brightest or even the most motivated does not mean advancement.

    Advice to Management

Rate employees by real standards and metrics. It is a little discouraging when one does their best but cannot get ahead due to diveristy.

    Pros

benefits are great, day one. very diverse environment, close to major expressway , half off your wireless plan, unlimited overtime if you want it

    Cons

HIGH turnover, training classes starting 2-3 times every month.
