I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you do well you can make great money, good benefit package available to full-time employees. Easy inside work for people who like people.

    Cons

Retail hours. Lack of growth opportunities without major relocation. Performance based pay can be a struggle during slower traffic months.

    Advice to Management

Adjust quotas to compensate for company or region wide slower months. Consolidate scoring metrics to focus on the more important instead of 25+ metrics/performance indicators. Align performance indicators to compensation instead of working against each other. Reward employees with customer first attitude more than fast sales clerks.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good benefits, flexible, good salary.

    Cons

Poor office environment, upper management disconnected with front line work load and employees, Disconnect between managers and upper management on who is actually producing.

    Advice to Management

Actually listen to local employees and TRY to at least help them in some way. Stop taking the easy way out and just blaming budget and work-load.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent company that's been the market leader for many years. Pay and benefits are very, very competitive.

    Cons

The non-retail side is a different story, but if you're unfortunate enough to find yourself on the retail side, the work/life balance is nonexistent and the work is very repetitive. Not a bad place to be for a year or so, but try not to make it past the two-year mark if you're on the retail side.

    Advice to Management

Rethink some of the basics in measuring success. You're still trying to quantify growth as success in a saturated market; you should be more focused on maintenance at this stage.

    Pros

I love working for VZW! Great team atmosphere, autonomy.

    Cons

Low salary and commission caps, this is hard to understand when you are the feet on the street for the company.

    Advice to Management

Keep fighting for increase in commissions for your BAE's.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The insurance is decent. 35% off accessories for employees and 50% off phone bills. Really other than that there isn't much else.

    Cons

If you want a social life, forget this company. They don't give a crap about their employees outside lives. They make you stay later past your shifts and call it overtime, but if your late after staying the night before punish you for being late to work. The commission structure is constantly changing and not in favor of the employees. They judge you on impossible sales goals and want you to lie to customers to give them tablets by moving money around accounts. They continue to take money away from the hands that feed them, pretty soon they will be seeing unions in states they keep screwing their employees in. Just a recap, NO SOCIAL LIFE, and THE MONEY IS NOT GOOD.

    Advice to Management

Better scheduling, stop taking money away from employees. Have clear goals, not random expectations.
