I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Used to be a great environment with great compensation and benefits. The benefits are amazing but drive employees exploiting the benefits and take advantage of the company.

    Cons

Its a culture of backstabbers, people looking out for themselves and leadership appointees who are completely arrogant and don't accept responsibility for the state of their business.

    Advice to Management

Senior leaders: Stop thinking that it's not you, its you who is killing the company. The company was a fantastic place to be for so many years but the culture shifted in 2012-2013. You started losing to the competition and were too arrogant to adjust to the market. Now you set unreasonable expectations for the employees and act like they are not performing when they can't meet the goals.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Benefits such as AWA(Alternate Work Assignment) basically work from home. Medical,Dental, & Vision is good.

    Cons

Management does not listen and makes your job harder then it really is. There is no open door policy at all. Retaliation will occur even if you are right.

    Advice to Management

Rewrite the policies and procedures and understand where your department starts and ends. Do not base your decisions just to make a number. Stop the bulk uploads and make sure the data being entered in the system is correct. Go back to the basics

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits. Cell phone bill half off. Pay was pretty good but can be capped off. Team reward at the end of February was great.

    Cons

No advancement opportunity. Have to know someone to move up. Can be very stressful. Some supervisors are better than others. Mirco management is common theme now.

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It's a pretty stable employment situation, usually giving 3 or more months notice before a layoff. They have tuition reimbursement, good internal training, and lots of other perks.

    Cons

There is constant organizational change, with little thought given to how the lower level employees will put management's new priorities into action. Careers can easily stagnate if you don't switch departments or locations.
