    Pros

Benifits... that's all, other then that unless your a brown noser then don't bother trying to advance or have a life out side of work.

    Cons

Well, if your ok with swallowing your pride and like to be censored then this place is for you. Working for corporate was fun when goals were realistic but once they raised them to unrealistic it felt like treading water with a brick over your head.

    Advice to Management

STOP THE MICROMANAGEMENT, and let the employees be themselves

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Used to be a great environment with great compensation and benefits. The benefits are amazing but drive employees exploiting the benefits and take advantage of the company.

    Cons

Its a culture of backstabbers, people looking out for themselves and leadership appointees who are completely arrogant and don't accept responsibility for the state of their business.

    Advice to Management

Senior leaders: Stop thinking that it's not you, its you who is killing the company. The company was a fantastic place to be for so many years but the culture shifted in 2012-2013. You started losing to the competition and were too arrogant to adjust to the market. Now you set unreasonable expectations for the employees and act like they are not performing when they can't meet the goals.

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Competitive compensation, exciting products and services

    Cons

    Worklife balance is poor.
Misaligned incentives create at times - customer hostile experiences.

    Advice to Management

Stop prioritizing incremental adds and pull-through sales at the expense of doing what's right for existing customers. Customers are fatigued as every in-store interaction has become about closing additional sales rather than ensuring fit and satisfaction with existing solutions. It is insufficient to simply say that you care about growth and retention equally, the incentives of all sales staff are dramatically tipped towards growth and retention/customer experience suffer as a result.

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, SOME helpful managers, and great training program

    Cons

Excessive emphasis on products that don't sell well, brainwashing tendencies, horrible work/life balance, and poor management (based off sales performance instead of managerial skills)

    Advice to Management

Start making "top sellers who made it to 'president's cabin'" take extensive sales management courses to ensure they become an asset to the store they manage.
Also, the HUM is stupid. Customers hate it which is proven by the horrible reviews on the product. Stop forcing us to sell it because Verizon, as a corporation, spent tons of money to partner with Telematics Co. to get the product on the market. Also, if you tell employees you understand they need an appropriate work/life balance, don't have managers asking employees weekly whether they want overtime because we are short staffed. Also, these managers don't need to be upset with the employees who decline the "overtime opportunity" because they have other things they planned to do on their 2 days off per week.

Terrible leadership, dishonest company. Forces you to sell things that people don't want. Upper management has no idea on where the company is heading. You make less and less each year because of unrealistic sales goals.
