I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great pay for those who work hard. Base pay was about $30,000 plus commission which for me was around another $35,000 a year. In two years of sales i made $65k first year and $58k second year because i left the company few months before finishing the second year. Good team environment, good training, sales so its all about selling.
Amazing benefits, vacations, personal days, 401k machinating 100% up to 6%, yearly bonuses of around $1,000+ for sales and around $3,000 for operation reps. yearly raises up to 4% (what i got), understanding management. Culture of promoting from within, unless those who apply are bad at their job then they hire outsider, which makes sense. You get gift cards from sale contests. In my location we got a lot of free lunch, breakfast, if we win a contest we go out to dinner paid by the company.
You get over time, some people who needed to catch up or wanted more sales would ask management and sometimes they let you come in on days off to make more money if other reps dont complain about it. Managers would help you out with making a sale and closing a sale and push you to make better sales by showing you and teaching you not just screaming at you. If they do get angry just look at them smile, hug them and tell them you love them and walk away slowly.

Hard work goes above sucking up, your numbers speak for your work.

    Cons

Hard to balance personal/work life, which is one reason why i left, but it is retail and managers try to work with you on schedule. But i can see myself coming back. And the biggest con is annoying angry customers you deal with daily. But this is retail so is expected. But they also pay you well because of what you deal with.

    Advice to Management

My managers were amazing! I heard of others from friends in other locations and they were not happy. Managers remember you have to work with us so give good raises, assist with sales and work. Put employee before customer, because employees make you money and deal with stuff you dont have to.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time

    Pros

Loved the company and the culture of the Charlotte Center other centers could not touch it in terms of being a wonderful environment.

    Cons

Reps arent given specific accounts while follow ups are allowed there was pressure to keep things moving and sometimes an account really needed one person to give it attention. This led to some accounts with 13 people having worked on it and things getting more difficult than necessary.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and pay - they have a lot of great programs to help employees with work life balance. Many different locations if you want to move/relocate.

    Cons

Many changes going on lots of transformations aka layoffs. They want young people with masters degrees. Too many people in leadership roles only there to squeeze $$$ out of the company and don't truly care about their employees. Company going in too many directions.

    Advice to Management

Management doesn't seem to develop and coach employees like they did in the old days. All depends on what dept you are in though. Too many high paid directors and managers and not enough real team work.
