I have been working at Verizon Wireless (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are great. Medical, dental, vision, tuition assistance, match 401k etc. They also have a gym on site and depending on the department hours are flexible.

    Cons

Very large company, where your treated like a number. Depending on the management, they are very strict and challenging to work for (high maintenance and demanding). They also refuse to pay over time (even after you work the extra hours) or even for traveling after hours.

    Advice to Management

Reconnect with people. Stop hiring all out of head quarters only, and involve your teams.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, promotion within, good pay, excellent development opportunities , wide range of positions, leading technology, gym in most call centers

    Cons

Political networking , very competitive, very results driven , high targets to achieve (move up as you accomplish them), a lot of departmental restructuring

    Advice to Management

Spend more time developing employees than pushing numbers

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Worked with a great team, good benefits

    Cons

Poor management above store manager, outrageous expectations, force to be pushy to customers not selling to needs, selling to boost profits that you don't see.

    Advice to Management

Beware that by forcing employees to push doesn't make them better employees. Telling employees that they're always on the chopping block doesn't help moral at work.

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing pay, benefits, coworkers at this location. VZW closed this call center March 2017, and it remains unclear what the future holds for front line employees

    Cons

Leadership is quixotically pursuing the "millennial" market, pays lip service to being an innovation leader in this industry, but internally it clearly felt like we played defense.

    Advice to Management

Be the best "dumb pipe". Don't be a corporate poseur.

    Pros

    Great Pay
    Great Benefits
sometimes there is a great employee culture
    flexible vacation/time off options

    Cons

I worked Tier II tech support so it felt that we were punished more for tier 1 mistakes than they were.
not enough support or options when a customer is angry or upset.

    Advice to Management

Be more supportive of the people on the phones, they are the backbone of the company
