    Pros

Excellent Benefits. They start from day 1

    Cons

Needs better leadership. Company is too reactive in the market.

    Advice to Management

If you claim to be a leader, be a leader. Do not move to reaction to the market. Do not try to lead from behind. Move to leading the market.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Verizon has great benefits and great products. You feel like you are part off a family depending on the department you work for.

    Cons

If you are there too long, you worth ($) is no longer valued based on their pay structure. Your manager week praise you with a great performance review but are stingy with the raises. When you take a position that is considered a promotion you can expect to not get more than 10% if you are only moving up one band. You only have room to negotiate a much higher salary if you come into Verizon for outside the company. The company definitely has an opportunity to pay their seasoned employees better.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the entry level employees whose voices are drowned out by upper management. Re-look at your pay structure for those who are leading seasoned employees.

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    • Great compensation & benefits; better than anyone else in their industry
    • They have a clear vision of where they want to be and well-defined goals
    • Truly try to take care of the customer
    • Lots of bright and good people, including highest levels of management

    Cons

    • Retail sales is not for everyone and the competition can be very stressful; if the company set an aggressive growth objective of 12%, by the time it gets to the retail rep level their managers could be demanding for a surreal 100% improvement (due to the multiplying bonus)
    • Metrics-oriented environment can lead to cheating, fraud, and misleading customers in order to obtain a bonus
    • Lots of unprofessional and underqualified people in lower management
    • Very hard to go to other areas of the company once initiated in Retail Sales

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to who you bring into the lower ranks of management, and make sure they voice the company's vision and not their own

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good Benefits, Decent Pay. The Culture was very good. The best part of the job are the friendships you make along the way.

    Cons

Takes time to career progress unless you know someone. Lots of back stabbing with a smile. Ok for young folks that want a few years of experience for a resume.

    Advice to Management

Get back to knowing the employees
