I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Used to be a great environment with great compensation and benefits. The benefits are amazing but drive employees exploiting the benefits and take advantage of the company.

    Cons

Its a culture of backstabbers, people looking out for themselves and leadership appointees who are completely arrogant and don't accept responsibility for the state of their business.

    Advice to Management

Senior leaders: Stop thinking that it's not you, its you who is killing the company. The company was a fantastic place to be for so many years but the culture shifted in 2012-2013. You started losing to the competition and were too arrogant to adjust to the market. Now you set unreasonable expectations for the employees and act like they are not performing when they can't meet the goals.

I worked at Verizon Wireless (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is great, the welcome overtime, if you do minimal effort on a daily basis you’ll also have a good commission check

    Cons

Because you get a commission it’s easy to over-work yourself and get burnt out. Retail hours aren’t fun either.

    Advice to Management

Keep a friendly team environment, don’t encourage fraud or sketchy sales techniques just to get high numbers, stay consistent

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Welcoming culture with immediate benefits. Top grade training which spans over 3 months. Plenty of opportunity, even if you start in sales. College reimbursement as well as language learning opportunities.

    Cons

Extremely competitive industry. It seems obvious if you’re at all sophisticated with the mobile industry, but it is much more than I had ever expected. At times is is cutthroat, so sales can certainly be stolen if you cannot close with a guest. And sometimes, when you’re in the middle of a sale. I did well in the industry, but I left because of the sales environment. The commission process is also a little ridiculous. Making your commission paycheck at the end of each month feels a bit underwhelming. You work extremely hard to make an extra $2000, with gets cut by (up to) 40% after taxes.

    Advice to Management

Make the commission structure easier to attain, or at lest more realistic.

    Pros

    Excellent Benefits
    Amazing co-workers
Tuition Assistance is paid upfront, no reimbursement required

    Cons

You may be laid off at some point
It can be stressful, especially if you work closely with Sales

    Advice to Management

I just miss the days before the company consolidated with Landline. It used to be such a family enviornment but no more.

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can make good money if you get a lot of activations
    Benefits are really good
Working anywhere but Retail is really good

    Cons

EXTREMELY high pressure to sell Tablets and home phones, things most people dont need

If you dont sell accessories, you are basically subhuman. All verizon cares about is selling their cheap Chinese cases to make massive profit.

Be prepared to be super stressed

    Advice to Management

Please try to act like you care about your employees.
