I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Benefits. Medical benefits are superior. Employee discount is often times less than what outside companies are given, so that's not really a Pro.

    Cons

Work life balance, even though the company says it's important to them, is non-existent. Salaried employees are expected to work between 60-70 hour work weeks. Hourly employees are repeatedly being asked to falsely their timesheets - I.E. don't put your OT on this week, carry it over to next week. Forcing employees to take trainings on days off. Using steady stream of layoffs as a "motivator" to scare people into working more and not adding it to time sheet.

    Advice to Management

Stop asking employees to falsify timesheets to not have to pay OT. Treat salaried employees better. Stop rewarding people checking boxes and putting garbage work out and start rewarding employees who are actually making a difference.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good health benefits. Ensures that health benefits stay consistent.

    Cons

when they are doing bad they take from their employee's benefits first.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees first by paying them a fair wage. Don't take from their benefits when the company isn't doing as well. Don't change titles so you don't have to pay them fair market value. We know what you are doing so you can appease your shareholders. Make yourself a private company, and remove the publicly traded company portion.
