I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Verizon is more than Mobile Devices they are a huge technology company. They are positioned to be in our everyday lives for a very long time. It is a Fortune 13 company so the opportunities are almost limitless. You are ultimately the master of you own destiny as long as you have good leaders

    Cons

With any company this size it is often difficult to find your true importance. The reality is that you are replaceable and you will be reminded of this when review time comes around. Not in any kind of direct manner but different words with the same meaning. The good ole boy system is alive and well as your promotions are based off who you know and how many times you have gone to the bar with the people that make the decisions. The rules only apply when it is convenient for the people making the decisions.

    Advice to Management

Hire better leaders instead of your friends. Understand the jobs of your employees before you decide to lead them. Better work life balance in retail.

    Pros

Great cafeteria food with a cook who will fix whatever, dual monitors, decent pay - ended year at 50K, pay goes to time and a half hourly rate after 40 hours, then double of your hourly rate after 50 hours in a week, great recognition and contests every month

    Cons

Must work overtime to hit quota or even start seeing a commission, some supervisors aren't the greatest, shift can change every 3 to 6 Months

    Advice to Management

Don't promote based on sales ability buy more on management experience

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not sure if the folks posting some of these reviews just have horrible attitudes or wha, but I am on pace to earn $95K my first year. I work about 45 hours per week. One review said there were days where no new lines would come in for an entire shift, I average 2.4 sales per hour!!! My benefits are $20,000 per year, which I pay $3,900 for, this covers my wife, kids, health, dental, life. Best benefits I've ever seeen. The 401K is a 6% match dollar for dollar. So when you factor in all the benefits, my compensation is around $125K per year. So for those of you complaing and not doing well, I would check yourself first before blaming eerything around you.

    Cons

Must work weekends first six months until yur performance gets you a better bid. Other than that, absolutely none.

    Advice to Management

    Keep hiring people like me
