    Pros

The benefit packages offered to employees are competitive. There are always development opportunities to further your career within the company. Tuition assistance to work in furthering your education.

    Cons

With any retail position comes the retail hours. If you are one who likes your weekends and holidays off, this would not be the fit for you.

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The money is a plus however the company's requirements are ridiculous or should I say the Dm's requirements are. Discounts on products.

    Cons

They do nothing about egotistical managers that have no manager experience. They have a manager that can add and subtract and good with numbers but otherwise is horrible with people and staff. Even thought it was okay to deny lunch breaks and question you when your sick. If the company would simply investigate or not tolerate childish behaviors in their staff free company would great. Verizon was a great company it greed has consumed it.

    Advice to Management

Back to the basics of treating people with respect and not like prisoners of war. Get rid of the managers that are crude and need more training to even be worthy of the company. Be proud of who you hire.... Not unsure

I have been working at Verizon Wireless (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Best Benefits, Training, and Clear Expectations. Best company I worked for! I was able to move up in the company and had help through mentors along the way. I always had support on my goals.

    Cons

Lost some of its swagger with all the acquisitions but by far the best place to work in the field.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and take the disney customer service model

I worked at Verizon Wireless (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Excellent health benefits, excellent education benefits, great employee discounts off of Verizon service

    Cons

It is impossible to get out of the retail sales channel. I was unable to get even an interview for an entry level marketing position after 7 years experience with the company and a degree in marketing and PR. The job was taken down without any interviews to the people I know that applied, and reposted within a week which makes me think they already knew who they wanted to hire. They also penalize you for not having any management experience (which would equate to at least a year of more hours and lower pay for high performing reps).

There is no work life balance in the retail stores as well. I had a manager that thought it was his right to change schedules with only a few days notice.

You are also coached to you immoral sales tactics. These tactics have been amplified ten fold since I left the company as well. If you enjoy misleading a customer into thinking they are getting the phone for free because they are buying 5 accessories, then this is the company for you. If you actually have a soul and would feel bad about scamming customers, I would not suggest working in the retail store very long.

I worked at Verizon Wireless (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Fair benefits package, pay was equitable, access to current technologies example the Apple watch, GoPRO, best bluetooth speakers. discounts on plan and accessories.

    Cons

Leadership is hiring new employees less qualified in greater numbers than keeping senior employees happy. Sales representatives often make more than assistant managers, yet there is a push to promote in that direction.

    Advice to Management

Dont rely on senior staff to train new assistant managers and sales reps. It takes away from sales time on floor. There is zero time to check new emails and zero work life balance.

Money, flexibility and winning! Proud to represent the best. Can't imagine the stress on anyone who works at other cell carriers.

No cons, it is the retail environment at its finest, if you can't hang, bye! No place for negativity here.

    Great job
