I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits. Good pay and flexible hours

    Cons

Management is terrible. They don't hire the best candidates for management position. Its all about who you know. I was micro managed to the point my boss should have been doing the job. She is only concerned about putting her son through college. Her boss is even worse! He is clueless and is a bully.

    Advice to Management

Have trust in your employees. especially when they have a great track record of performing the job at a high level. Do what is right!

    Pros

Awesome work environment depending on the store you're in.

    Cons

Lots of politics and managers seem to play favorites. They keep changing quota structure and in-store traffic is down drastically.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay and opportunity for growth in your career as well as great benefits. Culture is excellent and exhibited and practiced from the top down. Benefits are excellent and cost reasonable. 401k match and profit sharing. Lots of training and professional development opportunities.

    Cons

Company is trying to transform into what it wants to be beyond a wireless carrier (cloud?, security?, telematics?, wholesaler?, etc) and is struggling with a vision, resources, and org structure to make it a reality. Several re-organizations over last few years so job security has frequently been a question.

    Advice to Management

Stay connected to the operating systems and the front line people who use them.

    Pros

Loved the team, loved the perks, loved higher management. I really enjoyed my time there and will take all the lessons, be it life lessons or business, with me forever. Great company to work for and work with.

    Cons

The woes of retail. This comes with the territory. The only major gripe would be that all the other jobs outside of retail seem out of reach.

    Advice to Management
