    Pros

The Benefits Were Great. Met some of my best friends there.

    Cons

Didn't like the way they would outsource things for minimal cost savings, just so upper management could get bonuses

I worked at Verizon full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The people I met, the salary and benefits very good.

    Cons

Everything... different hours every week , so many metrics that are not reasonable and out of your control, customer satisfaction is not aligned with the metrics they expect you to reach, no work life balance, vacation you can't use, promote employees that are not the best, constant layoffs of tenured competent people who replaced with younger lower salaried employees that don't measure up or care. Upper management... doesn't care about anything but numbers and if you enjoy getting yelled at by customers everyday than congrats this is the job for you!

    Advice to Management

Put customer satisfaction first instead of having employees pressuring and tricking customers to buy products they don't need or use just to make you look good on paper. Everything is micro managed, you don't make a number you are on a low performer conference call. High performers are sleezy cherry pickers due to your unrealistic expectations.

I worked at Verizon full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

great insurance, 401k match, vacation packages, and hourly pay

    Cons

Comission structure changes often, making it harder to make good comission, KPI targets are nearly unobtainable little to no support from upper management/corporate. Managers get half time or no compensation over 40 hours of work but are expected to work more than 40 hours per week.

I have been working at Verizon full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Upper management only cares about the bottom line, which is good for stock price.

    Cons

Upper management only cares about the bottom line, not the people who work here. They certainly don't listen to what the employees have to say.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of G-Suites. It takes twice as long to do our job with consumer grade software.

I worked at Verizon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great products/solutions Great hard working people Excellent benefits Flexibility to work from home in some groups

    Cons

Be careful if you are working in sales. Some groups manage by fear, threats, lies, and upper management will cover for bad middle management hirers to cover up their bad choices. HR and the ethics group aren’t helpful since they are only concerned about protecting the company. Some sales groups are tech boiler rooms. Taking vacation or even lunch is often challenging. Quotas are too high in most sales... verticals. Management on many occasions will over commit sales and then lecture and threaten individuals when they don’t make commits due to management over committing them. Management isn’t always ethical. Process is awful. Sales is often chained to their computers to complete difficult processes. To many jobs are outsourced which in most cases produces a terrible outcome for both the customers and sales. Sales often has to clean up issues after mistakes have been made. Resources are often over-worked which can lead to negativity when trying to get pricing, legal and implementation.

    Advice to Management

Find out what is going on in middle management sales. Support sales people. Ensure people are being treated well. Question when someone resigns. Take interest in the people pounding the pavement every day to keep the lights on.

    Cons

*Pay equality *Diversity (especially upper management) *Employee recognition *Unsupported HR *Favoritism *Employment insecurities

    Advice to Management

*Diversity is missing in ED positions and up and in IT *Equal pay for equal work is a big miss- the harder you work, the less you get paid *If you are not the "in" crowd, forget about getting ahead *Bureaucracy

I worked at Verizon full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - 401k match - Profit Sharing - Decent pay/benefits - Tuition Reimbursement up to $8k - Great name to have on your resumé I learned a lot from the department about cellular networks, and was around to see the change from the legacy network to the new network. A lot of smart people working here.

    Cons

    - Nepotism at its finest - Upper management is clueless - Department management is undergoing "restructuring" The department and company as a whole are going in the wrong direction in my opinion. The company spends its money on ways to cut expenses, only to end up spending more in the long run. I left the company as part of their offered voluntary separation program because of multiple disappointments within the... company and see many jobs being offshored in the near future.

    Advice to Management

Remember what makes the network runs - competent happy employees and satisfied customers. The company is focusing less on their customers and employees to squeeze every dime out. For a company that wants to differentiate itself from the competition it is running the company like the competition. Stop over spending on dying company acquisitions and dumb frontline uniforms, and spend the money on upgrades and raising... employees' pay rates. If you need to make cuts, cut upper management's golden parachutes especially for those that cost the company millions/billions of dollars.
