Pros
Had a great start so far with useful orientation and great responses to my outstanding questions. My team and members of the teams I closely work with are supportive and engaging. There is ample follow-up to check in and see how I'm doing so far. Also, the benefits are excellent from day 1.
Cons
It's a big company and still growing - as we figure out how to scale and put processes in place, some seemingly straightforward things (IT support, access) can seem to take a while. You just have to acknowledge that this is the context for the phase of growth the company is in.

Vertex is generous of PTO including 22 days regular, summer shutdown of additional 5 days, and winter shutdown
Cons
I heard the base salary might not be as high as the other similar sized companies, given Vertex appeared granting more equity

Dedication to patients is consistently highlighted, internal onboarding/continued learning resources are extremely helpful, onboarding training is engaging, facilities and perks are great!

Large company means takes a bit of time to understand what's going on and where to find the information you need

Pros
Great company with strong pipeline and future growth. Love the benefits and time off (2 shutdowns: end of year and one week in August). Total compensation package: base, bonus and equity is very strong.

Really cannot think of any, just keep listening to employees!

- open mindedness - great sense of community with wonderful opportunities (e.g. day of service) - inclusivity - flexibility - intense and inspiring focus on patient driven work - bonus package and benefits - great facilities and working spaces - fantastic onboarding - everyone is extremely helpful and friendly - concerns can be voiced and are addressed and taken seriously - safe and fun place to work at - challenges and support are individualized towards ones goals and experience - phenomenal direct supervisor
