I have been working at Vertical Communications full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Telecommuting is allowed. Very flexible hours. Nice location. New furnishings for office and workspace. Donuts and bagels on Fridays. Friendly atmosphere.

    Cons

No 401K matching. Can only accrue 10 days of vacation before you must take it or lose it. Cubicles are rather small 6'x8' spaces with low walls. No performance reviews. No salary reviews. No bonus plans. Shrinking engineering department.

I worked at Vertical Communications full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are companies that have x-men and then there are those comprised of yes men. Vertical Communications is definitely the latter. So if you consider yourself a creative, out-of-the-box thinker eager to advantage your career…look elsewhere.

    Cons

The only problem with Vertical and the yes men is that there usually is not a lot of critical thinking that goes into saying yes all the time; and it shows. Their “strategy” is like a fish out of water and
    Greece has better credit.

    Advice to Management

Show some respect for your employees, their talents and most of all try a foster an overall fondness for your company. A little more critical thinking into your decision-making would also be a plus. :)

I worked at Vertical Communications full-time

    Pros

Overall good people to work with and for from a high level perspective. Commission rates are very good for selling the Vertical product.

    Cons

Company as a whole continues to struggle with revenue shortfall, too many employees over worked and under paid, product line is weak and they can't even make it all work internally, but they keep selling it. Focus is on driving revenue with no concentration on quality customer implementations.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to employees.
