    Pros

.Therapy and Nursing Staff attempt to do their jobs and really do care about the patients but you can only do so much without proper resources.

    Cons

Worked for the Phenix City Alabama location for almost three years. Where else in healthcare would you be responsible for seventeen patients that are heavy assist patients ( usually two person assist) In a twelve hour shift as a med nurse you get no break, responsibilities include med pass, dressing changes medicare charting, not enough staff for patient assist, higher level of acuity than reflected in staffing, run out of critical supplies consistently, Managerment had childish behavior ie: as long as you did what they asked without question you were ok but, as soon as you questioned or put your foot down they were out to get you. They would lie right to your face. pay was always messed up. patients and their care were not managements top priority but what the patient could be billed for was. Worst Place I have ever worked.

    Advice to Management

Staff would respect you more if they could trust what you say and if they could rely on the workplace not being the factor that causes them to lose their license due to negligence of the workplace providing proper supplies, equipment and staff.

I have been working at Verve Senior Living full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This company is saturated with intelligent caring staff, from the corporate support team to the front line staff. An exciting company to grow with.

    Cons

A good challenge to have is growth, the company is in a growth period during a period that many companies are selling out of the industry. Growing pains may appear to be a con in the beginning, but in the end, what a great company to be aligned with!!

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow and develop the awesome talent you have.

    Pros

New initiatives have put residents first. More focused on lifestyle rather than being a 'care home'.

    Cons

A terrible work environment at my location, created by middle management. A culture of backstabbing, bullying and sucking up. Employees are made to be afraid of making simple mistakes. An extremely high turnover in staff and managers.

    Advice to Management

Consider the culture created by your micromanagement may have an impact on the employees mental health and well-being. Grown adults should act like adults in the workplace. The workplace is not a school playground with nasty and spiteful name calling behind peoples backs. Employees should not dread coming to work, they should enjoy and love their job. Maybe then your employees will last longer than a few months!

    Pros

Huge focus on people. The most pleasant place I have ever worked. Love coming into work everyday. Amazing to work with a staff who really enjoy their jobs, no complaining or grumbling. They are very fair in how they pay.

    Cons

This one is difficult as they really are an amazing company. There is an expectation that you work hard - however not sure this can be classified as negative, nor do you hesitate when you are treated well.

    Advice to Management

    Keep hiring quality people

I have been working at Verve Senior Living full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fortunate due to specific location, supportive excellent General Manager, excellent working conditions.ok health benifits and flexible hours, lucky to be in a relativly new location.

    Cons

Inexperienced middle management, overwhelming amount of politics, trying to sell product as a five star hotel yet has policies and budget less than a long term care facility. Upper management lacks operational experience.

    Advice to Management

Each location must be run according the ethnicity of their residents and proximity. A luxury retirement can not be operated as long term care operation using identical menus etc, Retirement home residents pay upward of $4000.00 per month and only $200 is alocated toward food.
