I worked at Vestas Wind Systems full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good pay and awesome benefits as long as you can keep them before your fired for some dumb reason

    Cons

too much nepotism, poor management, they would rather fire you for you that work with you on issue that could be easily corrected. It is a revolving door. People always numerous people constently quitting and people getting fired for the most ridiculous situations. Vestas does not care about the employee. You can be there 1 year or 7 years and if they decide they don't want you any more they will target you and you are gone.

I have been working at Vestas Wind Systems

    Pros

Fast-paced, innovative, and open to new ideas. Easy to move up quickly as long as you work hard. Great compensation and benefits.

    Cons

Poor management, lots of sexual harassment that everyone knows about but doesn't stop, and a lot of money seemed to be spent on fancy perks even though layoffs were happening.

I worked at Vestas Wind Systems full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Vestas pays decently well for the Portland market, medical is fully paid for, and has nice facilities in the Pearl District.

    Cons

Vestas has very poor management both in Denmark and in the US. They are very poor at business basics such as process, procedures, documentation, and controls. Management in Denmark and the US can't seem to face these facts and have been ineffective at making any kind of meaningful change in the culture. As a result of being unwilling and unable to change in an increasingly competitive global market, the company continues to struggle year after year. Vestas has very good, highly paid people doing menial tasks 60% of the time. So for any professional with experience at a well-run company it will be an excercise in futility to work there.
