I worked at VetCor full-time for less than a year

    Pros

They seem to care about and keep in contact with the Veterinary Students that have worked for their practices, and reach out to them every so often which is wonderful way to try to bring those students back into the VetCor family

    Cons

I was leaving to go to vet school right when the transition was taking place with VetCor. I think that initial meeting with VetCor/Owners of the clinic and Staff members their was a little bit of a disconnect between Corporate and the Owners of the practice. I feel that meeting should be planned out thoroughly on what the Staff need to hear, such as vacation rolling over, If you still have PTO will the Owners still pay that out before the buy out, things of that nature. Instead of staff members asking questions but neither party has a great answer. SO maybe VetCor should help in prepping future Acquisition Owners on what to do and what things to expect as far as questions go from their employees. Because a lot of employees felt really uneasy after that meeting.

I worked at VetCor full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    I do not have any

    Cons

They keep the staff members that are toxic to the practice, but let the ones that have been there for 15 plus years go. Because of false information.

I worked at VetCor full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The hours and working with pets!

    Cons

The vets that run this location don't care about the staff at all. They talk about you behind your back to the entire staff on a regular basis. They are very unprofessional. They also talk badly about clients too. If you love drama then it may be the right place for you. It is unorganized. They give very little direction. If you make a mistake you will be shamed in front of other staff members. If you do one thing or say one thing they don't like the vets will make your job a living nightmare and think of ways to make you quit so they don't have to fire you. (Saw this happen to more then 1 employee) After all its ran by a corporation and they usually only care about making money. They don't really care about employees or pets!

I have been working at VetCor full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, helpful kennel staff, new computers, routine team meetings with "kudos" for doing anything helpful, grooming on other side of building, no evening work, have every other weekend off, appointment based.

    Cons

Tech manager lacks communication skills and a friendly attitude (very combative), hospital manager has no veterinary experience, slow to get rid of paper systems when set up to be paperless, receptionists require a great deal of help from other staff members who already have too much on their plates, hospital manager uncomfortable with non-certified techs helping in surgery, high stress environment, routinely understaffed with no policy on attendance (or anything, really), breaks aren't guaranteed.
