    Pros

Pros include: good medical and dental benefits as well as other perks, networking opportunities with a diverse population, and a fun working environment.

    Cons

Cons include: low pay, childish and sometimes inappropriate behavior by managers.

    Advice to Management

Leadership is hit or miss. Needs to be more active supervision and support by HR so that people are better nurtured. Career development needs to be a bit more structured and transparent.

    Pros

Work/Life balance - They are very proactive with spending time outside of the office. During the summer season we get every other Friday off and there is always an event where you can bring children.

Benefit - The benefits are pretty good and rarely do you hear about premiums increasing or getting less than prior years.

Dress code - Unless you're in finance or sales, you can wear jeans and dress down most of the time.

    Cons

There are opportunities, but unfortunately most of them go to friends of friends or relatives. The company should support more of its own employees.

"Cool place to work if you care about "perks""

    Pros

    Summer Fridays
    Mentor program for career growth
Depending on your team, nice perks
Jeans environment, depending on your team
Workshops available for a variety of topics
Good place to get experience than move on to another company- some people leave MTV to get a better paying job after a few years because the company name can open doors for you

    Cons

    Poor pay compared to competitors
Depending on your department, little to no room for growth. You may have to network with a few senior level managers to get a promotion or recommendation
Constant change- not always for good when it is not communicated clearly and truthfully
Depending on your department getting things done can be a lot of red tape.

    Advice to Management

Increase the salaries and maybe people will stay with the company for more than the "perks". Although a great place to work for new comers to the business or college grads who don't know what to expect monetarily, there is not good increase for jobs well done. Management should really look into other forms of rewarding employees for good work.

    Pros

The people. I've met some of the most interesting, dynamic, hard-working, and creative people here. Everyone has the desire to create good work, and for the most part it's a pretty inclusive and fun environment.

    Cons

Working in Times Square every single day might destroy your soul.

    Advice to Management

Everyone is so young it looks like there is no long term employees. For production mainly use outside vendors. Wasn;'t able to stay in contact with supervisors.

    Pros

The Santa Monica office was a laid back atmosphere. Dress code is casual and every person I worked with and met were nice and helpful. If I didn't have a career change decision, I would have wanted to spend my entire career at MTV Networks.

    Cons

Don't have any complaints except living in the valley the commute was rather far to Santa Monica every day.
