I have been working at Viacom Media Networks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of opportunity for professional development, great benefits, great culture

    Cons

Moving up and promotions are more of contests of how many recommendations you can get or how important the person recommending you is - not based on talent. Also being lower on the ladder means you get stepped on very often, even when things are out of your control.

    Advice to Management

At the department level, put more effort into getting to know your subordinates.

  9. "A legacy cable brand desperately trying to hold on."

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Really great people - young creatives who care a ton about their work. A lot of room to move around, and a nice benefits package (for staff).

    Cons

In recent years due to cable-cutter woes, there has been constant restructuring. Similarly, the company now entirely lacks what it was founded on - the desire and ability to take risks and break entirely new ground through innovation.

    Advice to Management

Stop pretending like cable TV is still a thing.

I worked at Viacom Media Networks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, PTO, nice people from everywhere. Good place for people with foreign language skills. Summer Fridays and paid holidays.

    Cons

Weak internal communication, management expects too much from the employees without any rewards. They can give you tons of projects and expect them get done soon. People with foreign language skills translate stuff for free to save costs.

    Advice to Management

Value employees vs. endless projects. Improve internal communication and motivate employees to work effectively.
