    Pros

You get great benefits, especially if you work in the NYC office. Anywhere else, meh....

    Cons

Poor leadership and management throughout the company. Promotions based more on favoritism and politics rather than actual merit.

    Advice to Management

Take management courses and have 360 reviews. Why bother changing if no one tells you you're doing poorly.

    Pros

Fantastic work environment with great benefits for the employee

    Cons

Action items tend to take forever before the ball is rolling. Employees, depending on their superior are often overlooked for advancement and are not taken as serious as one would want with regards to advancement. I have seen people leave, take a higher position elsewhere then return in a few years.

    Advice to Management

Lend employees your ear and listen to them when they ask for your help. Ideas often are shared and are overlooked because of the employees position in the hierarchy only to be shared by someone else (VP status or above) several months too late. Someone else has gotten there and done "that" by then.

    Pros

A relaxed, casual environment. The brand still carries recognition and cache.

    Cons

The company is aching to be the cool/hip MTV of the 80's/90's but is struggling with an identity crisis. Teaching managers how to lead PEOPLE instead of just assign tasks is not a priority - feelings/emotional value are not considered here.

    Pros

MTV is such a fun, hip place to work.

    Cons

Can be a little too corporate and some of the "higher-ups" lack experience.

    Advice to Management

Hire based on experience, not who will work for cheap.

    Code. Diverse.

    Cons

Office in Times Square, Doesn't pay market price, long hours - no overtime.

    Pros

Cool perks such as awesome parties and opportunities to travel, see concerts, shows, and other various cultural events. Easy to work for, and gives young people a chance to break into the industry.

    Cons

Almost everybody is "perma-lance", meaning freelance but comes to work for at least 40 hours a week, just no benefits or vacation time. Does not usually pay industry standard to most of its employees until they've worked there for at least a few years.
