There are no cons that I would like to report at this time. Thank you. IMO, your career is what you make it, what you put in is what you get out.

I worked at Viacom full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great top management, borderless opportunities, standard but not fab benefits. Access to people who listen.

    Cons

Middle managers obstruct growth for self-preservation. High competition for every position creates insecurity and lower pay ceiling. HR is employer loyal. Can't be counted on.

    Advice to Management

Listen and be flexible. Great ideas surround you. Old models fail because of rigidity. Long days are expected. Heavy workload translates to employee mismanagement of time.

  10. "Massive Company, but Generally Good"

    I worked at Viacom full-time

    Pros

Excellent benefits and a chance to work television/media. How good or bad the company is depends a great deal on what division/sub-division/team you're working for.

    Cons

It's a huge company and different divisions don't necessarily work well together. The bureaucracy can be mind-boggling at times. Executives are always chasing the next big thing or following a new trend, so direction isn't consistent direction from year to year.
