I worked at ViacomCBS for more than 5 years

    Pros

If you love media, you're working on some of the best programs and brands in the business. Great, creative, and smart people who love what they do. If you want to work in Miami, there aren't too many choices so at least this company as one of the few is an amazing media company.

    Cons

Backstabbing happens in some business units so watch yourself and document as much as possible along the way. Note: That smoking gun email in your pocket may not save you. HR won't stick up for you. The structure is in constant flux so you never feel secure and able to get to the business of your job. To be fair though, there aren't too many media companies that aren't in flux.

I worked at ViacomCBS full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Creative people, collaborative environment. Great place to pass through and have on your resume before going elsewhere.

    Cons

Constant layoffs. Constant. Every few months. Everyone is expendable. Few staff positions anyway. Lots of permalancing.

    I worked at ViacomCBS

    Pros

Viacom is a global company. Therefore there is much opportunity to get involved in many initiatives. The company is entertainment and media focused, so it had a relatively relaxed and liberal culture. Many good people work there despite the recent troubles of the company.

    Cons

In recent years working at the company has been chaotic and insecure. Recent well publicized battles among senior leadership, reorganization and reductions in staff have made working at Viacom difficult.

    Pros

Work environment, facilities, resources, travel, perks.

    Cons

Red tape, takes HR forever to get things done, poor policies for studio employees. You need to really prod them hard for promotions and raises.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at ViacomCBS for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great benefits, access to top resources, and work with great people. Company is moving forward with some cutting edge ideas.

    Cons

Reactive environment and management does not always put people's interest first, but hopefully that will change. Old school management is unfamiliar with newer ways of analyzing data, however seems invested in moving in growing in this area.
