I have been working at Viatel full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Recent management changes have made a generally positive change to culture, there's a new vision for how and where the company wants to move to which was lacking in previous years. There's a pretty good atmosphere in the office, people are generally happy to chip in and help with what needs to get done.

    Cons

Office is in a less than ideal location, remuneration is by no means high.

I have been working at Viatel full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Viatel is quickly becoming a great place to work, the whole company is on a journey of change and all for the good. This starts with a new proactive CEO who has energised the team around him, improved communications, sharing, collaboration all encouraged. Its the best I've seen the company in many years - the work environment is improving every day. Active and hard working social club, Culture team taking staff feedback and making frontline changes - Love the Free Pizza and Beer Fridays, Breakfast on demand, canteen games & Pool.

    Cons

If you cant hack change - then Viatel is not the place for you - you need to be quick thinking and adaptable to rapid change!

I have been working at Viatel full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fantastic new CEO - very much hands on, sits on the floor with his employees, has quashed any form of a hierarchical leadership team. Flexible with working hours and working from home - dependent on job function Working on their culture - make an effort to fill us all with food and treats on holidays (Halloween, Easter, Christmas etc.) Do free beer and pizza on a Friday A good place to learn - plenty of opportunity to develop and learn new skills. Encourage risk taking. Very active in the public eye and involved with industry events, press and media. Business itself is really good - growing and adding new personell

    Cons

Would be nice to have maternity benefits included The offices could do with a revamp to make them more modern

    I worked at Viatel full-time

    Pros

Generally a friendly environment among employees.

    Cons

Pays too little to keep talented staff. Does not take employee suggestions seriously. Does not invest in infrastructure to support future projects and future customer needs, always lagging behind in technology development. Does not invest enough in employee training. Focuses on certain core skills, and all other skillsets are entirely unrefined. Lacks loyalty to their employees.
