I worked at Vibra Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Cheap lunches decent (but not great) pay.

    Cons

Nursing care is not priority. LPN's run the show and not always well. Standards are low based upon what I saw of nursing care. Lots of talk about how patient care was the most important thing, but staffing and attitudes towards RNs who asked for more help/supplies sucked. MDs were hostile to staff, sometimes putting patients in the middle of a professional war.

    Advice to Management

Get some nursing standards and policies and stick by them. Staff appropriately.

I have been working at Vibra Healthcare part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay for my position! Awesome co workers! Everyone is very welcoming and make you part of the working family. They are flexible with schedule!

    Cons

The drive could be better but isn't as bad as I thought from highland area. Nothing really bad that I could complain about.

I have been working at Vibra Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Competitive pay and 12hr shifts

    Cons

Consistently short staffed and high employee turnover. Vibra boosts a 4:1 pt to nursing ratio. A 6:1 ratio is the norm and it not based on pt acutity. Often nurses have to do complete pt care despite having 6pts because they can't keep their cena/ pcts. Management is unsympathetic and will just keep taking more admissions even though they do not have the staff to care for them. Nurses are also expected to work "hard to fill holidays" (Mother's Day, Halloween, ect) without bonuses or incentives. If you get low cenus you are expected to be on call for the the first 4hrs of your shift, also without "on call pay". If you work at any of the Vibra of Southeastern Michigan you are forced to work all three facilities if they are short staffed and can be pulled to other locations without notice. Lincoln park, Detroit and Taylor.....it's not like being pulled to another unit as a float nurse, they expect you to work in 3 different cities. If you complain or refuse they find a way to fire you. Management is all about the bottom line and do not care about nursing staff or pt care. The CEO gets bonuses every year for coming in under budget meanwhile the nurses do not have enough equiptment ( BP machines, digital thermometers, accuchecks) which are often broken or must be shared. The lack of nursing support and unsafe nursing staff ratios make me fear for my license.

    Advice to Management

Happy nurses go above and beyond for patients. If you want to increase your patient satisfaction surveys scores and actually start retaining core nursing staff you need start listening to your nurses.

    Pros

Paid holidays and vacation time. Retirement plan. Great Monday though Friday work hours, Paid training. Occasional free lunch. Secured work environment. Casual dress

    Cons

Management has no trust in their employees. Micro management is king
Changes made almost daily without any input from employees and sometimes without all management staff being notified.

    Advice to Management

Either give your employees more training so you do trust them or back off. If changes are to be made, discuss them among all management before making the change. Hearing one thing from your manager and a different thing from the director is confusing and frustrating.

I have been working at Vibra Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Pay, location, food, and patients

    Cons

List of unacceptable working conditions,The leadership of Vibra does not care about nursing or its respiratory therapists. Management is allowed to micro-manage their employees until many of them just leave. If you like to be texted multiple times all day and be told on how to manage the ventilator this job will be for you. I would strongly advice not working for this company. Their are much better places to work that will acknowledge your skills then this company. Patient care is poor. Bottom line is a patient to Vibra is a dollar sign. The texting to the staff is insane and why has it not stopped?

    Advice to Management

The RT protocols are not working. The unrealistic and inhuman on call policy is not working! The texting and emailing to personal accounts is not working, Why cant staff have a work email account? Please stop the texting and let the RT's manage the ventilator. The constant training and turnover rate of staff is not working. Learn how to provide customer service by retaining your own employees. Learn what it really means to provide superior customer service. Remember that is someones loved one laying in that bed. Please Please stop the texting.

I have been working at Vibra Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is decent. You only have to work 12hrs, 3 days a week That's about all I can say that is positive.

    Cons

They are very unorganized. Some of the employees don't like to help. The PCTs have 11-14 patients. There are only 2 PCTs on the shifts.

    Advice to Management

They need to hire better employees. There needs to be at LEAST 3 PCTs on day shift and night shift.

    Pros

You will gain a great deal of experience caring for complex medical patients

    Cons

Backsdtabbing bullying .staff direspecting staff and same one doing it over and over without discipline or counseling for it

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff .theres a real issue with bullying and staff being direspected infront of other employees by another without intervention.
No one should be spoken to with disrespect or loudness especially infront of others ....this is unhealthy environment

Terrific Personalities to work along side with

    Cons

The very same departmental people will turn on you if someone else with veteran status decides they are not in favor of you personally. Leadership is absolutely CLUELESS as to what is truly going on with patient care.
