I have been working at Viceroy Hotel Group full-time

    Pros

Viceroy is still a growing company.
This offers a chance to still be creative, and provide an individual impact.
The employees are warm, friendly and encouraged.
Benefits are available - and are in line with industry standards.

    Cons

Some room for growth in the area of employee internal systems.
Still using older systems for processing of vacation, and sick time requests, etc.
Mixed property standards in the brand. Some hotels are below par, and some are very high end.

    Advice to Management

Continue to keep it up. Overall, employees are happy and proud to work for Viceroy.

I worked at Viceroy Hotel Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This hotel is a growing company with many beautiful luxurious properties. Great bayview cafeteria for employees to take break (food is low quality). Activities set in place for employees, Christmas party, Summer party, fitness class about once a week etc. Good entry level hotel.

    Cons

The staff are uninspired but most have great potential. No real valuable incentives to employees working hard are given. There is a lack of personal skills when it comes to management. Parking is not provided one is given a $50 credit for a parking garage/metro monthly that is very pricey, leaving employees to take the metro late nights passing 11:30PM, which becomes a nuisance. No training available, managment seems to be pre-occuppied with other departments/things leaving the front desk employees with the short-end of the stick.

    Advice to Management

Set a holistic training for new employees, to reduce errors and give employees a sense of advancement. Create realistic incentives for employees, perhaps something like a $10 gift card for name mention in a review instead of cookies. Inspire, be present ask questions and opinions from your employees.

I worked at Viceroy Hotel Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Gorgeous place, great location in downtown Miami with strong corporate standards values that are not consistently applied which shows through a low employees moral most of the time and inconsistent customers' satisfaction

    Cons

Not yet able to find out their identity, constant changes , high turnover with every positions levels hourly or salary, FOH or BOH, major inconsistency in service and products provided

    Pros

Working under great leadership at the corporate headquarters. There a lot of cool people that you have the opportunity to meet. The office super nice and well stocked.

    Cons

The corporate offices are pretty quiet. It is not an exciting atmosphere. And things can be pretty slow. And there is also no real training program at the corporate headquarters.

    Advice to Management

Build a corporate training program. Don't leave your interns bored with menial tasks consuming the bulk of their time.

    Pros

Great Service Standards, Nice properties in fantastic locations. The company truly believes in extended training for managers. Like a family after awhile.

    Cons

Not loyal to hard working management. General management changes a lot at properties. Company spending to much effort trying to please investors instead of guest.

    Advice to Management

Try to get as much training as possible from the company. Must be open to relocating in order to advance.
