    I worked at Victoria's Secret part-time

    Pros

Everyone is crazy nice and you truly are a team there. At the location I worked at all of the girls were willing to step in and help for any questions even if I was thinking that it was something I should already know the answer to, which is especially important when my second day in retail ever was Black Friday-crazy I know. The managers were fantastic and you know exactly what was expected of you when you came in every day because you had to check in with a manager before starting each shift. Working at VS is like working with a little, non-judgmental family. You're expected to be aware of your sales numbers if you're on the floor, how to give a bra fitting, and how to 'sell' the VS Angel Card. You're also responsible for knowing the products as you progress with your time there and to compete VS University training and monthly updates. They also use an online calendar for scheduling where you input your availability-if you don't list it then you don't work it or at least in my time there this was true (and how the program is supposed to function)! VS expects a lot from you, and that you are constantly improving yourself and things around the store-even a seasonal position is demanding, but in my opinion worth it.

    Cons

Beware if you aren't keen of talking to people and putting yourself out there-the expectations include engaging with every customer you see and that may not be for everyone, it depends on your personality. Training is somewhat limited-I'm not sure if it was the time of year or because I was seasonal, but a lot of the 'training' was truly learn as you go and sometimes that can be frustrating if you like a lot of structure.

    Advice to Management

Better communication during the craziest time in retail if that's possible-sales and displays change rapidly and only working weekends sometimes they assumed that you were up to speed even though you weren't. Management was awesome though, stern about expectations, but never condescending and always helpful. Management also does a great job of updating employees throughout the day of the goals and whether they've been met and they're super positive!

I worked at Victoria's Secret part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, opportunity for growth in company, interaction with so many customers, free items/discounts

    Cons

Store theft, long holiday hours, high store volume, disinterested/burnt-out co-workers

    Advice to Management

Management, encourage your employees as much as you can. Although many in management consider the "little people" to be disposable, we like to hear what we are doing right and want to enjoy work. Retail is much more tolerable when the atmosphere is warm and welcoming!

Got commission, flexible hours & co-workers were nice

People always tore through the underwear sections, so we'd fold bras/panties as if we were Sisyphus.
