I have been working at Victoria's Secret part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Although they do personally work around my schedule (I've been with a specific store since it opened a little over four years ago and have worked my tail off, so they work with me). I know most girls either get no hours or too many to handle. All the employees are young, young, young!!! Most are fresh out of high school, especially when we hire during summer.
    Discount is great!

    Cons

Pay is excruciatingly low. Sad sad sad

Store manager very difficult to work with. Needs more work in order to be successful and higher volume store. The store manager is very self involved in herself then in her team

    Advice to Management

    Better communication and patience

    I worked at Victoria's Secret full-time

    Pros

The customer connection are amazing. You truly feel like you are impacting their lives daily. Product is great quality. Some managers are phenomenal.

    Cons

Little to no work-life balance. Expected to work 4pm-5am and then be back for an 11am shift. No one thanks you for your work. External hires make more than valuable internal candidates in the same position.

    Advice to Management

    Thank your staff.

I worked at Victoria's Secret full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The employee discount, you are always busy so the time goes by quickly, having an earpiece helps a lot when dealing with customers.

    Cons

Long hours, I was supposed to be part time but there was no option of working less than 39.5 hours a week.

    Advice to Management

I would say that continuing to connect with employees is important and working together as a team to make sales is vital.

I worked at Victoria's Secret part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The best part of working here is interacting with TRUE customers- customers who love the company and the products offered
The Discount is cute during the first few months
Great job for someone in high school and college - but I wouldn't say it's a long term career
This job requires A LOT of patience
60% of the time this job is a dream , the other 40% will make you hate retail

    Cons

    Managment isn't the best
Growth in the company is almost nonexistent
Feels like a dead end job a lot of times
Company's direction has changed- honestly, not for the better
Catty sellers and lower managers checking their numbers every five seconds and looking over you to see who you assigned the sale to
Has a catty sorority house feel sometimes

    Advice to Management

Look at the strengths of everyone in your store , maybe even try to promote the generalist who deserve promotions

Maturity and professionalism is a must- it's unprofessional to talk about your employees negatively to other employees and other managers

TALK to your staff, get to know them.

Be a leader, you should be out on the floor selling , this way you see what your employees strengths and weaknesses are

If there is a problem with an employee speak to that employee instead of waiting for the next store meeting to address it

Have more store meetings instead of always having manager meetings - everyone should have a voice
