    I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time

    Pros

    Discounts, nice bras, perfumes, organized

    Cons

Management, ridiculous work hours, minimal training for beginners

    Advice to Management

Management was not so good. Working an 8 hour shift but staying until the next morning to clean up and reorganize and having to be back to work in 4 hours is ridiculous, favoritism amongst the managers and their associates, beginners to retail and cash register system had little to no training done and made it more difficult for themselves and their customers.

    I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time

    Pros

Gratis, Discounts, flexible schedule. I liked being able to be truthful with management and not feeling as if I couldn't befriend them.

    Cons

This is my personal opinion but retail was never for me and it made it worse working here. The people working at this location had good management , but what scared me or concerned me was that the management tend to beat over your head that you're just another person and you're replaceable, which lowered my confidence in working there. It was more out of fear that I showed up instead of genuine enjoyment, like how it used to be. There was times because of low morale that I didn't sell because I started hating the environment. I hated hearing the catty-ness between what the afternoon girls did and what the morning team had to put up with in regards to closing. During closing time, I saw workers be given a section and focus more on selling rather then restoring their section and when it's time to leave they said they cleaned their section and they didn't. I was really happy to work here in the beginning but as time progressed it became more of a paycheck rather than long-term. Near the end of my employment I started noticing that workers were dropping like flies and they explained that they hated they pay and they were lied to.

    Advice to Management

Know that your workers tend to take other people's credit of work. That it's extremely cliquish and needs an overhaul in terms of training, not grouping everyone collectively, and treating the employees as if they are important.

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores (Less than a year)

    Pros

Gratis. That's about it! The free or little to nothing items you receive.

    Cons

Everything! Poor , messy, and unprofessional management. In my opinion everyone in the Galleria store for management should be fired! Do not, I repeat, do not work there.

    Advice to Management

Professionalism, use the same attitude you had when you were hired into the store.

"Be a shopper, not a worker at Victoria's Secret!"

Current Employee - Sales Specialist in Grand Rapids, MI
Current Employee - Sales Specialist in Grand Rapids, MI

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Discounts
    - Gratis
    - More Bra Knowledge
    - 5 out of the rest of the Co-Workers were very nice and a joy to work with.
    - 2 out of 5 Managers were very kind, and wanted to see you succeed.

    Cons

    - Folding Panties.
    - Co-Workers & some Managers were very rude, disgusting, and full of themselves.
    - Worked long hours, and could only wear flats, or heels; NO TENNIS SHOES! My feet would be throbbing by the end of the night, and it would hurt to even stand on my feet; I would almost cry.
    - Cashiers would steal sales from Sellers.
    - When barely beginning at the job, Co-Workers wouldn't want to help you, and if they did, they would be very annoyed / angry with you.
    - Everyone was in some type of "Clique"; all my Co-Workers were in college and older, I was the youngest (18 years old, Senior in High School), and not even the kids at my own school acted the way they did.

Before working here, I loved Victoria's Secret so much, now, I absolutely hate it. I dread going into work. It's so sad that my outlook for the company has changed so drastically. I would just want to be a shopper at Victoria's Secret, not a worker.

    Advice to Management

Don't be so cocky, help your employees learn more, don't be disrespectful, and especially be more kind. Karma will get you.
