I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great discount on clothes
    fun people to work with
learn a lot about the industry and measuring

    Cons

    pressured sales front
    insane work schedule
spending a lot of your own money there because they want you in their clothes

    Advice to Management

I would advise to management to have more people hired so they don't need to over work their current hard working employees

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I had amazing managers and also a great work relationship with them and my coworkers. Gratis was amazing, including free perfume and bras. Since I was full time I received 30% off and being a pink girl my outfits were 50% off. Training made selling bras a breeze.

    Cons

I was extremely overworked, there was no life work balance at all. When I would be on schedule to leave at 5 I would end up staying until 6:30ish because they would need an extra person just to cover while people went on their breaks. Also, if the panty bar wasn't perfect we would stay HOURS until it was. Once after a panty sale I was there until 3 am (we closed at 10) folding panties with a team of 7 girls. I ended up being there for 12 hours with one 30 minute break, which was just not okay for me.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great team, great management

    Cons

Yearly raise is .30 or less; if not full-time hours fluctuate drastically

    Advice to Management

Raises should be given to employees that exceed the company's expectations

    Pros

Free stuff, good pay for me at least. I've made a ton of friends within the company. I would like to stay seasonal even when working after I graduate

    Cons

Management/ favoritism/ they cut hours and expect u to stay and live off of 10 hours a week..which is very annoying at times. But idk, I graduate soon and have excellent jobs lined up.

    Advice to Management

Be on the same page and the rules apply to you as well

    Advice to Management

    Could have been better.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores (More than a year)

    Pros

    -great discount
-fun and family like sales team
    -beautiful products
-competitive goals that keep us motivated

    Cons

I have had my ups and down with this company. The most frustrating this about it is the lack of communication. We have weekly visits with corporate, and yet none of my managers were not able to communicate with each other or their associates. This made our scheduling process impossible, most days we would end of over working the people working on the sales floor to compensate for the confusion.
There build their trust with broken promises and will try to drag you in for months at a time, pretending to be clueless about the realities of the companies projection. This makes it impossible to plan for the future and to seek opportunities to advance in the company.
Self centered managers and sales specialists make the environment tense with lots of passive aggressive behavior.
Commission is dramatically different, basically nonexistance now

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Be honest with your employees.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time

    Pros

+ Great staff! Both the managers and other employees want to help you teach you if you are willing to learn - easy to make friends :)
+ Great training for someone new to retail - I was hired as a holiday associate and kept on after the season was done - I very rarely felt like I couldn't ask someone for help even during really busy times
+ Good with allowing time off - just have to communicate with them in advance

    Cons

    - Sometimes the sales floor gets tense when people think you were trying to 'steal their sale'
    - For a retail job the managers expect a lot out of you (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) but there have been many times when I have closed and was scheduled till 10 but didn't get out till 11:30pm - same with floorsets - scheduled till 2am but didn't leave till 4am. But the people are nice and working the extra hours is good too so that makes it bearable!

    Advice to Management

Allow more hours for floorsets/ schedule more people so we aren't getting out at 4am or later

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Working with and for women
    The fun atmosphere
The training is thorough and ongoing
    Support from fellow staff members
    Fast paced and always changing

    Cons

Retail hours and schedule can get grueling
    Theft and loss prevention
Working the fitting rooms creates a handful of awkward situations (men wanting to go in, women wanting their partner to join them, people stealing)

    Advice to Management

Recognize in house talent and promote on a faster track to retain employees
