    Pros

Starting salaries are current with industry and locale

    Cons

Stunted innovation due to legacy technology. Some areas within the business are not as competitive as others but competition does occur depending on the department. Direction from upper management is not always based on knowledge inasmuch as it is more goal oriented and focused on short-range planning. Many very small decisions require the collaboration of several individuals which therefore requires an inordinate amount of meetings and discussions. The company is well known for the practice of hiring over-qualified people for lower-level positions which contributes to a general sense of dissatisfaction within the ranks.

    Advice to Management

    Manage globally

    Pros

The benefits package was incredible, and VSD doesn't discriminate against anyone... even pregnant new hires looking for maternity leave and benefits.

    Cons

The verbal abuse from the "clients" was terrible and I spun into a depression working there. Expect to deal with perverts and very, very cranky customers on an hourly basis. The company did what it could to offset some of the difficult calls but truly it wasn't nearly enough. The company is very stingy with paid time off; only offering 17 days per year and nearly half of the year is "blacked out" meaning you can't take any time off. The company also schedules you regularly on your "days off." Many of the employees are severly overweight because you're sitting still for 9+ hours a day, and the company offers no healthy alternatives whatsoever: no gym, no free time to workout, and definitely limited healthy choices in the cafeteria. In short, I didn't enjoy working here one bit.

    Advice to Management

Please recognize this is a difficult job to do; moral support for your employees would be paramount.

    Pros

    The discounts and free stuff.

    Cons

For such a well off company they sure don't treat their employees right, there are Inconsiderate co-workers as well as managers, if you're sick or have no one to take care of your kid, they don't care. Never a steady schedule. Low pay. Expect too much from you. Always forcing you to get the costumers to get credit cards. I don't recommend it.

    Advice to Management

Be more appreciative towards sales associates.

    Pros

A free bra once in a while. Employee discounts. Can't think of any other good things about working at this place!

    Cons

Horrible management. On-call type scheduling so you cannot plan your day until you call in to see if you are needed at work. No training. No respect. Be prepared to accost every shopper with an Angel Card sales pitch. The primary job duty is to sell those credit cards. There may be 80 employees for one store, so don't expect hours.

    Advice to Management

Raise the bar for managers. Too many ghetto type, uneducated managers. Hire fewer employees and train them well. You will see less turnover and therefore not need to keep 80 people on the schedule!

    Pros

I liked the discount for Limited brands, white barn candle company bath and body works vickies. NO limited discounts. which sucks
I suppose its an important store so you can get plenty of hours

    Cons

Folding panties untill 12 in the morning. Mandatory Sunday evening meetings for only three hours of pay.
On offered $7.30 for Five years of retal experience. Isn't that the new minimum wage? as of august 2009

    Advice to Management

pay more for more experience. Actually look up references not just call random people that you ask the person for as a reference, seems kind of unprofessional.

    Pros

Fellow employees are great to work with and easy to talk to. decent discount. great inside scoop on when new things are launched and when the best sales are.

    Cons

opening the store and organizing the bra boxes in the fitting room is pretty pointless. closing the store folding panties for three hours is also quite pointless. etc.

    Advice to Management

visualizing and executing the perfect associate doesn't work, especially if the managers can't visualize and execute being a perfect manager.

    Pros

    30% discount
    decent employees
    advancement possibilities

    Cons

although most employees work part time the job is very stressfull, so u have to be able to handle stress well!
you have to sell like crazy and also sign up ppl to credit cards.1st day no direction so basically u running around like a chicken with no head!theres always managers watching u, lookin to see if ur goin to steal r if u r not selling enuff.
its like they want u to act like a damn cheerleader all the time which is difficult to do with hardly any breaks so by the end the day ur drained.
point blank its a very difficult store to work at so if u have other store options try them 1st b4 goin 2 victoria secret u will regret it!

    Advice to Management

give more direction to employees, let them know exactly what they should improve on instead of giving harsh criticism.
give employees a chance to adjust not expectin on their 1st day to understand everything be positive and the company will do better as long as the employees are positively reinforced it will help the company to sell more!

There really aren't any pros. I guess the free bra they give you when a new model comes in.. that's it.

    Cons

The managers treat workers like dirt in my opinion. You constantly have to try to sell credit cards, which can be annoying.

    Advice to Management

    Be more supportive

    Pros

Great health insurance and time off opportunities.

    Cons

The company to political. If you are not a personal favorite of a supervisor you won't have an opportunity to move up. The trainings are full of smoke and mirrors and are pure propaganda.
People that work hard and enjoy helping their customers are not recognized unless they are part of the "cool kids".

    Advice to Management

allow customer service associates to do their job. Stop restricting us with fake numbers and indicators that don't mean anything.
