I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun products, occasional free items, generous discount, fun atmosphere, friendships amongst sales associates, good music, entertaining customer base, opportunities to grow

    Cons

Low wage, cruel management with no supportive outlet to report indecencies against staff, lack of job security, long and often unfair holiday ours with lack of flexability

    Advice to Management

Don't treat entry level staff like they unintelligent garbage. There was one manager that would go out of her way to make sales associates and fellow managers cry. Corporate did nothing to amend the situation and gave her a big promotion. They value sales goals over employee happiness.

    Pros

Pay was great, you can move up in the company quickly.

    Cons

They constantly hassle you to get someone to sign up for Angel cards, They never close not even on Holidays, the managers/supervisors were rude and don't like to help you, Majority of the customers speak spanish so if you don't it is hard to succeed in this company.

    Advice to Management

Stop being greedy and bullying your employees to sell Angel cards for your benefit, hire likable people who enjoy talking to others.

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fast paced environment, great products, great learning experience, decent pay, smells pretty good in the store, upbeat and friendly atmosphere

    Cons

Awful communication between management and employees, inflexible scheduling, scheduling outside of availability, either working too many or too few hours per week, expected to work several hours past scheduled shift on occasion, frequent staff and management turn over, difficult to find shift coverage, nearly impossible to request time off, very strict dress code

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like human beings, learn to communicate and schedule within availability, do not terminate employment without explanation

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good gratis and 30% discount, when cool manager working on floor the environment of the whole store changed and became a fun work experience.

    Cons

Managers expected a lot from their part-time employees who were FULL-TIME students.. don't expect to have a life during seasonal (thanksgiving and Xmas time) which is usually finals time. CALL INS WERE THE WORST!! I heard they don't do it anymore but I'm not sure

    Advice to Management

This job may be your whole world but it's not everyone's. Don't kill your employees trying to make last minute sales you couldn't build yourself

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The management team is so sweet! They're very friendly and easy to get along with. Even the team at our sister stores are full of sweethearts that welcome you to the L Brand family! The team is the complete dream!

    Cons

It's all about the store. Even as part time they schedule me as full time and schedule me when I say I'm working my full time job. Multiple people have had this complaint. They ignore our availability and just schedule us whenever the store needs someone. They also keep scheduling full 8 hour shifts followed by a 4 hour on call shift. I keep trying to quit and explaining why but they just keep scheduling me even after I say "I'm done". I even did a few no call no shows and none of the managers even noticed. Even while I was shopping in the store.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what your team wants and needs. A team is only as successful as their managers. If the management team can't even commit to proper scheduling why should the team commit to working their shifts?

    Pros

Store discount was the best part. It was interesting to learn about the brand and true bra sizes versus how you think a bra should fit.

    Cons

Working with all females in a competitive environment was a total dog eat dog atmosphere. If you even looked different Management made fun of you
