I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

nice products, good people, fairly easy

    Cons

bad mangers, everyone is only wanted to getting huge selling bonuses instead of helping shoppers and working as a team, no proper training.

    Advice to Management

I really do wish this was a fun store that i worked at but the mangers always worked the store floor because they got huge extra selling bonus, and when you work the cash register your expected to sell which you can't do people the mangers and sales leads don't help shoppers. My daily question was " do you work here?" and "thank god i found someone who works here to help" so the whole weight of runningr the stores was on the cashiers because we weren't bonus money crazy, I wish the mangers would remember that if you make a nice environment for shoppers and you help them they will buy things and we all could make bonuses but i guess they forgot because only one person i worked with is still there everyone quit and the mangers fired, but i still would rather shop online than deal with the mess of a that store, it was a whole slough of problems and still is.

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great discount based on your status (PT/FT) which are 30% or 40% off respectively. There are also monthly Gratis offered (items at extremely reduced prices once you've completed training modules). There are TAP positions during the holidays (temporary management positions) which can lead to permanent positions when they become available if you show strong leadership skills and positive numbers during your segments.

    Cons

Little control over when you can actually end your shift based on the conditions of the sales floors, fitting rooms and panty bars. This is a multi-store issue as mngmt decides when you can go home not your actual posted schedule when closing. Your sales are based on cashiers ensuring you are getting credit for helping customers. However, when mistakes are made (giving your sale away, or not assigning anyone the sale during an exchange) there is little mngmt will do to correct it. Your sales are also based per hour including hours you work while the store is actually closed. The expectation is you are making up your sales for those hours, this can lead to you not making your sales goals and being held accountable. This will also lead to you not making your sales incentive for the month as you have to keep a minimum SPH to qualify for an incentive.

    Advice to Management

Adhering to associates' schedules for closings and eliminating the expectation that they stay an hour to nearly 3 hours during a "Panty Event" past their time can greatly reduce stress, encourage retention and decrease job abandonment for your stores. Quality of life issues in regards to closing is the biggest complaint amongst sales specialists and sales support generalists in your company. Solving issues around sales expectations while an associate is in the building without any customers to sell to (actual hours your extablishment is closed to the public) would greatly increase Sellers' trust in this commission based environment.

    I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores full-time

    Pros

Many of the other girls I worked with were easy to talk to and made the work environment very enjoyable and easy going. The managers were very helpful and understanding whenever I or any of the other girls needed to take a day or more off. It was also nice of the company to provide discounted products for their sales associates and managers to try out for the sake of the customers.

    Cons

One of the biggest cons was the way the store organized the schedules. However, I do believe the company has addressed some of the complaints many of the store workers have had in relations to the scheduling.
