I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Working with and for women
    The fun atmosphere
The training is thorough and ongoing
    Support from fellow staff members
    Fast paced and always changing

    Cons

Retail hours and schedule can get grueling
    Theft and loss prevention
Working the fitting rooms creates a handful of awkward situations (men wanting to go in, women wanting their partner to join them, people stealing)

    Advice to Management

Recognize in house talent and promote on a faster track to retain employees

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great company, great discount, and monthly gratis.

    Cons

Customers are rude, some managers are just promoted and not even good managers as far as they're mean and they go on power trips.

    Advice to Management

Associates should be asked to review managers when it comes to VSU. Some managers just aren't team players and they go on power trips making things miserable for everyone else.

    Pros

Loved my regular customers and coworkers were always chatty and having fun! The discount was fantastic and freebies as well! Hours were good, tend to work 25 hours a week!

    Cons

Pressure to make budgets and sales targets was intense. Upper management was too demanding of staff and goals were sometimes unreasonable.

    Advice to Management

Advice to management would be that a little recognition can go a long way, and to be a bit more reasonable with targets.

    Pros

The hours and fat check are good, but I hate coming in to process at 3am. Yes otherwise it was fine.

    Cons

Not flexible with school schedule, need more workers besides sales support generalist, they need more workers in the grave yard shift

    Advice to Management

Some managers need to act more professional

    Pros

Met and worked with some amazing women

    Cons

it's retail.. the hours and schedule suck

    Advice to Management

Continue to push your associates but let them know they are appreciated and acknowledge their successes. Do this on your own, do not wait until you get sent a cheesy mandatory way of doing it from corporate

    Pros

Room for growth within the company. Pretty good pay. Paid time off, sick pay, benefits, 401 k, and great discounts.

    Cons

work, life, balance. They've been working on it but it's still an opportunity. Work you to death sometimes. A lot of miscommunication with corporate and stores.

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun working atmosphere and great discounts

    Cons

When I started everyone was paid just for the amount of hours they worked. When I left they were in the process of changing over to a commission-based pay. This made the employees unhappy and created a lot of rivalry amongst the sales people.

    Advice to Management

Empower the sales reps and trust them to do their job. If you only spend 3 minutes working with a customer she will feel that she is not valued as a customer at the store.
